The elven king looked at her with a weary smile.
"So full of hope." He relented, rising from his chair. "I trust you and your judgement. You will make a wise ruler one day, my child. Mark my words."

Riastrad looked interested.
"Now how did you manage that?" he said. "Earned abilities are very difficult to acquire - for someone your age to have them, I'm very impressed."

Xia shifted on the bed. "I'd rather not discuss it." She replied. "So, this first power, what is it?" She asked, quickly changing the subject from a topic that she didn't care to talk about.

Lavina gave her father the sweetest smile a daughter could give her father
"I hope I can be as great a ruler as you father"
she helped him up from his chair and hugged him
"No matter what happens father I will always love you"
a tear escaped her eyes but she quickly brushed it off before her father could she. She was afraid Memoire wouldn't be able to pull of his plan and she would have to move and leave her people behind

Her father held her close.
"Lavina. Fear does you no favours, I find. If you trust, you also must believe. I trust in you. Therefore I believe in you, and thus in Memoire. Do you not believe in him?"

Riastrad looked up at the ceiling.
"The ruling family of this kingdom possess the strongest line of hereditary powers in the world. The eldest child, Thom Preiturne, is both next in line to the throne and the wielder of the First Power - flight, superhuman strength and speed and borderline indestructability - essentially, he's a god."
His eyes darkened.
"And I've been hired to kill him."

Lavina closed her eyes
"I do father, But there is also that bit of fear that he wont succeed. Its normal to fear. Isnt that what you always taught me?"

Her father sighed.
"To fear is normal. To put aside that fear and continue as though it was not there is a mark of true wisdom."

Though her head was buzzing with questions, I'm not an elf? What? But the drug forced her to hold her tongue. Nodding in acceptance, Kao walked straight out of the house. Once she was outside the restrictions on her body fell away.
I need a scabbard. She realized, looking ta the fabric wrapped sword.

Lavina looked up at her father
"I learn it from the best"
she smiled
"now then why dont you go rest and let me handle things. You look tired and a king must get his rest to rule his people"

The king kissed his daughter on the head, smiling.
"Don't get too clever. I'm several hundred years older than you, young lady - I know a thing or two," he said, winking as he departed for his chambers.
A younger elf edged closer to Lavina.
"Do you think the humans are going to come back here again, princess?" he asked, quavering. He looked scared.

Xia tilted her head slightly. "Who wants him dead?" She asked. "And wouldn't you mean 'we'?" She added, as she got up from the bed. "People have seen us together, if you're successful, they'll think that I had something to do with it too." She looked at Riastrad. "It puts us both in danger."

Lavina looked up in the sky
"Hopefully they don't, but he might"
she looked back at the elf and patted him on the shoulder
"but you have nothing to worry about with him, he wont hurt us"
she gave him a smile
"Lets take you to the spa to relax a little, my treat"
she lead the elf down the hall

The elf brightened up at the prospect of a spa with the princess.
"T-thank you, my lady. P-please, lead the way."

"Someone who wants him dead."
Riastrad shrugged.
"Darling, I'm a bounty hunter. It's the only real work I can get, and I'm damned good at it too. Sad to say."
His face darkened.
"And trust me, anyone tries to hurt ya, they got me to answer to. I got a reputation in certain circles."

OOT: Lucky elf

Xia unfolded her arms, and sat on a nearby chair, crossing her legs. "So, how are we supposed to find the first power?" She asked. "I'm assuming you were beaten up to get information."

Lavina walked down the hall leading the elf to the spa, she walked up to another elf, told them to give him whatever he wanted. She then walked back to the elf and smiled
"Your all set, sadly I wont be able to join you. I have a few things I must attend to since my father is resting"
she smiled
"But go and enjoy yourself, dont let the humans worry you, I will handle it"
she left the elf at the door of the spa and headed down the hall.. She really didnt have much to do, she just wanted to be left alone to gather her thoughts on everything. She eventually found herself on the balcony sitting on a lounge staring up at the sky watching as the clouds passed by

"A drop to aid the tree, or as humans would say, a penny for your thoughts."
Her father's advisor, a kindly lady named Desharin approached Lavina. "Or would you prefer to be alone?"

Riastrad smirked a little.
"Oh, beating took place alright. But ya gotta find his weakness, and what do ya think that is?"

Lavina looked over at her fathers advisor and smiled
"Just thinking how beautiful the sky always looks, and how the clouds float so freely"
she looked back at the sky
"How is my father doing?"

Xia tilted her head slightly. "I would think it would be the same as any other man's: a beautiful woman." She replied, as she uncrossed her legs, then crossed them again.

Desharin smiled. "He sleeps, but he is troubled. I see it in him. These are troubled times, though, so you cannot blame him."

Riastrad raised an eyebrow.
"Well well, someone thinking ahead. Yeah, he's got a lady, but trust me, it's an amateur's mistake to use that against someone - just pisses them off. And I don't want you getting the wrong impression about me - this guy's a prick. Abused his powers, killed innocent people just because they got in his way, the lot. I'm not some merciless nameless killer - if I don't agree, I don't take the job. You understand?"

Lavina sighed
"Is he troubled because of me?"
she looked at Desharin
"because of the marriage?"
she pulled her knees up to her chest
"I hate seeing my father go through this, Maybe I should have stayed there, me being here seems to only worry him more"

Xia rose from the chair. "I got the impression that he wasn't a good person." She looked at Riastrad. "Sell sword or no, you're a good guy." She rested her hands on her hips for a moment. "I'm guessing this guy doesn't keep much of a guard around him, if he's freely abused his power." She raised her brow. "If we can lure him out in the open, I may be able to take him out from a distance."

A woman slipped towards H's table in the pub, at the same time her drink rippled despite it not being disturbed in the slightest.
"Would you be H, by any chance?" a voice queried from under a hood.

Desharin smiled and ruffled her hair. "Lavina, it is a father's nature to worry about his daughter. And he does trust you as much as he both worries about and loves you. You bring comfort to him with your presence."

Riastrad sighed.
"It ain't gonna be that easy, darling. This guy's practically invulnerable - you could drop a house on him, he'd ignore it. We need to find a good supply of warpstone before we hit him at all - but I like your thinking."

Lavina gave her a faint smile
"What should I do?"
she rested her chin on her knees
"I guess the only thing I can do is wait to see how things play out"
she sighed
"I wonder how long tho"


H raised a brow at the woman who approached her
"That all depends who is asking"

Xia thought for a moment, then got an idea. "What if I craft a bolt tipped with warpstone?" She asked. "Would that put a dent in him?"

Riastrad smirked.
"Damn, you're a born killer -but only constant contact with warpstone would weaken him. If you sharpened it... hmm..."

Desharin smiled. "We are long lived. Humans are not. The time will pass quickly to you."

Lavina sighed and looked back up at the sky
"I hope your right."
she paused a moment as she watched a bluebird fly past landing in a nearby nest in the tree with its babies. Lavina couldn't help but smile.
"Did father say if he wanted anything particular done today?"
