Lavina looked up at Memoire and shook her head
"please"
she said in a low tone. She looked over at Thom an heard Memoire and her eyes shot over to him
"What...whats wrong?"


H looked down
"I've never really had to kill anyone, I hurt a few people severely but never killed them"

Memoire's eyes blazed with disgust and horror.
"This is murder. Not just execution, not the delivery of justice. This is murder."
Thom gently flew over the balcony to the stocks. The first man looked up at him as he hovered there, eyes wide with fear and rage.
Without a word or even a hint of preamble, Thom reached out and flicked the man squarely in the center of his forehead. The bone caved in, crushing the frontal lobes of the brain not enough to kill instantly, but instead guaranteeing that the death would be slow, and horrific.
The man's eyes crossed and his mouth opened, drooling bloody streaks onto the floor.
"Ga-ga-ga-ga-g-g-ag-agaa-"
He thrashed, the strangled noises getting louder and louder as his tortured brain went haywire, panicking and screeching, desperate for any chance at life. But none was given, and eventually Thom just got bored of the man's gurgles and moved onto the next.
As pleas for mercy, screams of horror, crying and weeping - not all those jailed were male - filled the air, complete with the thuk of bone being smashed, Memoire got up, took Lavina's arm and pointed at the door. No-one else noticed, they were all too busy staring, enraptured, at the gruesome display put on for them. Ironically, the only one who saw them go was Memoire's future wife, but that was because she was tapping on her MagIpad instead of actually watching.
Memoire whispered. "Just... just go. The garden's on your left, just go."

Scylla smiled. "Just checking if you were lying to me or not. Here's the deal, cutie-pie - I'll lead you to the ones who killed your beloved master, on the condition that you kill a few choice people for me. How's that sound?"

Lavina watched in horror, her mouth gaped open and her eyes wide as the display took place. When the screams took place she quickly turned her head and covered her ears to drown out the noise.
"please stop"
she said quietly. Lavina jumped when she felt her arm being grabbed. She looked up to see Memoire pointing at the door. She nodded and took her leave. She leaned against the door trying to gather her thoughts . After a few minutes she started walking looking for the garden making her way in the direction he told her to go. She managed to find the garden and found a nice quiet spot that was completely surrounded by plants which left very little opening and sat down. She motioned her hand in a way that moved the plants, closing out any gaps. She pulled her knees to her chest and hugged them as tears welled up in her eyes. She sobbed into her knees.
"those poor people"


H raised a brow
"who is it you are wanting me to kill and why?"

After what felt like hours, the screams died away to nothing.
The door to the garden opened.
"Lavina?" It was Thom, looking around lazily. "Come on, come out. I know you're in there." Through a tiny gap in the plants, Lavina could see the hand that had slain those in the stocks had a little blood dripping from the fingers.

Scylla raised an eyebrow.
"They are my enemies and your enemies. These people would not hesitate to see you executed, or killed, or tortured, or raped and used as breeding stock, or a lab rat to be poked and dissected. The world would most gladly benefit from their deaths. But why do you care? All you want is the information."

Lavina looked up when she hear Thoms voice, she could see the hand and the blood, she quickly scooted back to get further away from him until her back was against the wall of plants. She closed her eyes hoping he wouldn't find her, slightly shaking in fear, the tears streaming down her face.


"And why would they want to do those things to me, I haven't done any harm from people unless they deserve it"
she took a moment to think
"Exactly how many people do you want me to kill?"

Thom reached out and parted the vine wall as though it was made of paper, looking down at her.
"Enough hiding," he said, reaching for her with the bloodied hand. "Come here..."

Scylla pondered as well.
"Only about eight people."

Lavina flinched away
"Please don't hurt me"
she cowered away from him closing her eyes tightly


H was quiet for a moment thinking it over
"I guess that's isn't to many, so how do you want me to kill them exactly?"

Thom picked her up by the scruff of her neck like a kitten.
"Stop struggling or I'll make you," he said irritably, lifting from the ground so her feet were dangling in the air, whilst fresh blood dripped down the back of Lavina's neck.

Scylla became businesslike.
"In the way only you can. Without any clues, witnesses or possible time frames."

Lavina stopped struggling when he threatened her. she remained still
"W-what are you going to do to me?"
she looked up at him the fear was obvious in her eyes



"I suppose I can do that, So who is my first target? I need details and information on them, their whereabouts ect"
she leaned against the wall

A dark light shone in Thom's eyes at her words, but a strained "Ahem" from behind him announced Memoire's entrance.
The two brothers stared each other down, Thom's eyes lazy yet challenging and Memoire's passive but unrelenting.
After about thirty seconds a woman's voice called Thom's name, and his interest in Lavina was lost entirely.
"Whatever..." he shrugged as he dropped Lavina on the floor then almost ran Memoire over before Memoire flew out of the way.
When Thom had gone, Memoire helped Lavina up. His face was red, like he'd been angry or crying, but it was impossible to tell which.
"You ok?" he asked quietly.

Scylla pulled out a note and passed it to her.
The note was of a rotund, wicked-looking fellow, labelled "Refinement Quarry".
"You'll find him there, now. Is there anything else you think you'll need?"

Lavina had cowered when his eyes shone. She quickly looked up at Memoire when she heard his voice feeling slightly relieved. When she was dropped on the floor she landed hard unexpected of him dropping her. When Memoire approached her asking if she was alright, she nearly burst into tears but she held them back
"I-I'll be fine, but...why?"
she looked up at him as if she was wondering why Thom had come for her

H took the paper, skimmed over it then placed it in her pocket.
"Yes do you have any source of weapons I could use?"

Memoire helped her to her feet.
"Probably asked to. My father doesn't trust us being alone together, he thinks we're plotting. That terrible cloud has a silver lining though - I think your liberation from my brother might be close at hand, and soon I will tell you your role. I am terribly sorry, I didn't know Thom would be carrying out the execution. You must think me a monster for being part of a family that enforces such a debacle."

Scylla looked delighted.
"What do you think you'll need?'"

"Why would your father think that? Does he not like me?"
She brushed her clothes off
"Your brother was really rough, I-I thought he was going to hurt me"
She was still slightly trembling
"I can't blame you for your families actions but will I have to attend those execution all tue time? I dont think I can watch that again no one deserves such cruality."
She said sadly then she looked up at Memoire
"I think I would much rather keep my distance from your if possible"


Oot no color phone glitching

H thought for a moment
"A dagger anything that would be useful and quick"

Memoire looked amused.
"Nah, he just doesn't like me. Or trust me. Or love me. The whole bundle."
He got up.
"You won't watch the rest. You're going home. I'm not going to let you watch more."
He extended his arm.
"Take my hand. I'm taking you home."

Scylla handed her the magic dagger she carried.
"Anything else?"

"But wouldn't they wonder where I am if I'm not here, I don't want to cause any problems"
she didn't make any movement towards or away from him
"I can just stay here, just.."
she looked in the direction of the execution
"not in there"


H looked at the blade
"No I think this should do"
she looked up at scylla
"So i just kill this person and then what come back here?"

Memoire looked slightly reckless, wide-eyed, almost crazed.
"Just take my damn hand so I can get you back to your home away from this madness. Do it. Please, Lavina."

Scylla's smile became a devious smirk.
"Correct! And in return, I will tell you a little something about your master's killer..."

Lavina took a few steps back away from him seeing the look on his face.
"I-I...okay"
she hesitantly placed her trembling hand in his deciding it was best to do as he said. It was obvious by her posture and the fact she was keeping her eyes to the ground that she was completely terrified


H nodded
"ok I'll be back as soon as I can then"
she headed out the door taking the paper an looking at it
"Where do I find you?"

Memoire's eyes lost their manic tinge and he stood there awkwardly.
"Hey..." he said weakly. "Hey, don't... don't be scared of me..."

Scylla was already walking away.
"I'll find you, darling..."
Then she was gone, the church's shadows swallowing her up.

Lavina looked up at him through her lashes
"J-Just take me home please"
she blinked and a tear escaped her eyes, and she moved in a way to hide it


H looked back that the woman
"I was meaning this person"
she looked back at the paper and started walking
"Well time to find you"

Memoire took her hand and he flew her home in silence.
He returned her to the exact spot where they had left, said "I'm sorry," quietly, before flying off again.

There were various street signs around the city, and one of them said "Refinement Quarry" to the left down the street.

Lavina kept her eyes down as he flew away. When he left she headed straight to her room, not even bothering to inform her father or anyone else she was home. She crawled into her bed, curled up in a ball as tears escaped her eyes. She could still hear the screams and cries of the execution in her head.
"Why do humans have to be so cruel?"
she said quietly to herself. She slowly drifted to sleep from exhaustion. Between handling her fathers tasks, the execution, Thom and Memoire she was completely worn out



H followed the signs to the Refinement Quarry to the left down the street
"I wonder if he is around here"
she said to herself

They were now looking at a guarded building, two guards out the front looking straight ahead, the flowing street not even seeming to register with them.
"How would you theoretically rob somewhere?"

"Lure the guards away, knock them out, take their uniforms." Xia replied, then looked at Riastrad.

Desharin quietly opened Lavina's door.
"Do not ignore the rose to lament at it's thorns," she said gently to Lavina as she came and sat on the end of her bed.

Riastrad smirked. "Now how would you do that?"

A guarded building with two guards out front came into H's view, people bustling past it and a weathered man and young girl observing it from across the street with some kind of vested interest.

Lavina was sound asleep when Desharin entered. Her voice work Lavina and she slowly opened her eyes. When Desharin sat at the foot of her bed Lavina sat up
"What do you mean?"
she gave her a confused look


H took notice to the man and young girl and decided to approach them
"Excuse me but can you tell me what this place is?"
she looked over at the guards

Desharin looked out of the window.
"If humans were as cruel as you think they are, they would have moved to slaughter us long ago. There will always be evil, and as such there will always be good in others too. Your friend, Memoire, seems like a good man, behind his cryptic ways and indecipherable demeanor. You would surely be doomed if he was as evil as you think all humans are."

Riastrad blinked.
A young girl had come over to them.
"This place, ma'am, is the citadel's Warpstone Refinement Quarry - they bring in warpstone from the wastelands and they shape it here into chains and manacles and the like. Now why would a little lady like yourself be asking that?"
