Semira continued walking towards the church. When Gabe dragged Shula towards the church Semira couldnt help but smirk. She gave them a few moments to talk before walking behind them.
"Everything ok here?"
she raised a brow at the both of them



Amelia froze on the spot looking around at the men
"A-A boy from my dreams told me to come here. H-he said if i needed a safe place to go to come here and gave me the password"
she started slowly backing up
"p-please dont hurt us"

The messenger angel had finally caught up to Sauriel. He spoke in a rushed, almost panicked tone.
"Master Sauriel, I'm glad I finally found you! If you would...please come back to the church right away. We believe that the entire congregation may be in grave danger at this very moment!"
Sauriel turned towards the angel with a slightly puzzled look hidden under his helmet.
"Oh? Do you have any evidence of this? Surely there must be a reason behind your suspicions."
The angel shook his head.
"Sadly, no...but the head of our church seems very insistent on it. Perhaps he senses something, perhaps it is simply intuition, I cannot say. Even so, if there is some form of truth to this--"
Sauriel interrupted him.
"The words of a holy man should never go unheeded. Come! We shall return immediately."
Sauriel unfolded his wings and flew back to the church as quickly as possible. His speed was impressive, making the other angel lag far behind him.

"A boy?"
The man paused.
"JOKAN!! Do you know these people?"

The boy from Amelia's dreams peeped his head over the horizon, hair streaked grey with dust, brown eyes glowing a little.
His face lit up when he saw Amelia.
"You're real..."
He scrambled over the rocky terrain, climbed down to her, then grabbed her by the shoulders. "I can touch you... you're real... you're... actually... real..."

Maraud knew the scents.
He knew their voices.
But it was that circle he remembered, that magic he'd felt the effects of firsthand.
No doubt this is connected with what that angel said earlier... Then he recognized the woman with them, the woman who'd placed Fenrir under the enchantment back at the hotel, and his fangs sharpened in his mouth.

He stayed back, watching the proceedings, already thinking that whatever these two were up to, it boded no good. Well, good in the personal sense.

The humans and angels inside of the church looked around in confusion and fear, trying to understand what was causing the earth to shake. The head of the church ran towards the entrance, knowing that his worst fears had come true and they were under attack. He saw three strangers standing in front of the entrance, one was casting some kind of spell while the other two were prepared for battle. He directed the angels who had followed behind him.
"Evacuate the congregation! Move everyone who cannot fight away from here!"
The angels complied, and he turned back towards the intruders.
"Azrael! Tyrael! Come forth and defend us in our time of need!"
As he ran back into the church, two angelic warriors descended from the sky between him and the intruders. Both were very powerful and skilled warriors, but he was afraid that even they would not be enough to fight these three opponents. However, just a moment later, a mighty gust of wind interrupted them.
"Fear not! I have returned to vanquish those who would oppose the righteous!"
Sauriel flew in to see that, just as he had been warned, the church was under attack. He recognized his nemesis right away and glared at her in hatred.
"Semira. Once again, you feel the need to defile sacred ground. And I see that you have brought a new set of thralls with you to help you accomplish your task. Dismiss them and fight me alone, if you have even a shred of dignity left in you!"
His spear materialized in his right hand and glowed even brighter than it ever has before. The air itself twisted and bent around his blade. He glanced at the two strangers with Semira.
"However...if you insist on taking the path of a coward, I will not yield. While you have gathered allies, I have gathered power from your slain brethren. You bring only two warriors to face me? You should have brought thrice as many if you wished to destroy me!"
His entire body glowed with power. His pointed his spear towards his opponents, challenging them to make the first move. The brothers Tyrael and Azrael looked at each other, unsure of what to do. Tyrael was the first to speak up.
"Master Sauriel, surely you do not intend to fight alone?"
Sauriel replied in a forceful, almost angry tone.
"You will leave them to me unless the most desperate of situations calls for action! This battle is mine and mine alone! Stay your blades!"

'Actually, you're just in time for the fireworks.'
Gabe stepped in the centre on the circle he'd drawn, and knelt, placing his hands on the ground. As he did this, the circle began to glow, and the earth began to shake violently under the entrance of the church.
'Shula, get ready to move!'
'On it.' Shula shirked off her robe, revealing the unrestricting outfit she wore underneath, all with her blades.

Semira's wings appeared as she hovered slightly above the ground so she didnt have to try and keep balance with the violent shakes. She lookd over at Shula as she took off her robe
"I approve"
she smirked
"Now then lets see what you two can do"

Semira heard her name being called out. When she looked over to find it was Sauriel her eyes lit up with glee
"Oh I see you've stuck around, I'm still waiting for my 'punishment' you promised me"
she looked at the two she was with then back at Sauriel
"As for th sacred ground, I ALWAYS finish what i started, This church needs to cease to exist and I will be sure that it does"
she held out her hand allowing her staff to appear, the orb glowing brightly
"so as for my promised punishment, do you prefer me in this form, or...."
her body started as she changed into a demon
"Or this one?"
she smirked
"As for these two they wanted to have a little fun and take down a church"
she gave him an innocent look
"A little birdy told them about this one. and here we are"

Tybalt waved to Decoda as she left.
"Thanks, you too. See you tomorrow morning!"
He walked into the room, shut the door and sat down on his bed. He just sat there quietly for a few moments and blankly stared at the ceiling, lost in thought.
"Well, what an adventure this has been so far. I've definitely met a lot of interesting people, so it's already been worth it leaving home. But...still..."
He lied down on the bed and let out a heavy sigh.
"Things are going as well as I'd hoped...but I'm still having all of the problems I expected. It seems I just...don't fit in with normal humans, or anyone else for that matter. Even if I somehow lost all of my powers and started living like a normal human, I feel like I wouldn't fit in. Hmm. I guess I'm just different from everyone else, in more ways than I thought."
He let out a yawn, finally letting his fatigue show.
"Oh well. I'll figure something out, I'm sure."

Decoda slept for a few hours, then woke up. She got up, and walked downstairs...their host was still sleeping. She walked into the kitchen, then made something for herself to eat...a sandwich.

Sauriel glared at Semira, his eyes burning with hatred. When one of her followers spoke up, he briefly turned his attention to him.
"Indeed, you look upon Sauriel the Archangel. What of you? Is your judgment truly so poor that you would willingly align yourself with the forces of darkness, or has this sorceress cast a spell that has entangled your very soul? Perhaps she has offered to fulfill some sort of...twisted base desire of yours? No matter the reason, you would be wise to abandon this mad quest of yours. I would not hesitate to destroy all three of you if need be."
His stance remained as aggressive as ever, waiting to strike at any moment depending on his enemy's response.


After sleeping for a while, Tybalt woke up and jumped out of bed. He made his way outside and sat down in the yard, looking up at the moon. He had a very serene look as he calmly stared into the night sky.

After cleaning up, Decoda made her way back to her room, then realized the door was open. She walked over to the door to close it, then say Tybalt sitting outside. "Tybalt?! What are you doing out here?"

Semira smirked at his aggressive stance then waved her hand submissivly
"Oh lighten up Sauriel, If you want to "punish" me all you have to do is ask...
she paused a moment and batted her eyes at him
"Nicely"
she raised a brow at his weapon
"hmm here let me help you"
she raise her arm slightly and snapped her fingers. The spear he was holding suddenly changed into a pair of pink fuzzy handcuffs, Semira smiled with approval
"Now thats more like it"

OOT he is able to change it back if he wants she is just trolling him ;P

"Once again, you freely mock me..."
Sauriel glared at the strange "instrument" that he was holding.
"Again and again you mock everything I hold dear. My honor. My dignity. My pride as a warrior. My rank and status as an angel. In fact, you have so masterfully insulted the very core of my being that I must begrudgingly congratulate you. I never-- in all of my years-- realized that I could feel as much hatred as I do now, even for a demon."
The handcuffs changed back into a spear.
"I will give you your "punishment" soon enough, since you seem to want it so. You will not enjoy it, though I certainly will. Yes...I will enjoy watching the life drain from your eyes, the pained expression on your face as you breathe your final regrets for having ever heard even the mention of my name."
His eyes glowed brightly as light and energy surged around him.
"In your last moments, remember the archangel Sauriel as the one who banished you to the depths of oblivion!!"
Four pillars of light formed around him. Those pillars then took on the same shape as Sauriel himself. They were more than illusions, they were separate beings of pure, solidified light and although they were weak, the damage they could inflict was very real. They took a defensive position around Sauriel as he began an incantation to cast a very powerful light-based attack.


Tybalt seemed to be a bit startled as he came back to himself, having let his mind wander while staring at the moon. When he turned around, he saw Decoda and laughed.
"Oh, Decoda! Don't mind me, I was just sitting out here lost in thought."
He looked back up at the sky.
"The moon looks quite beautiful tonight, doesn't it? I've always liked looking up at it. I find that it has quite a calming effect on me."
He still had a smile on his face, but there was just a hint of sorrow in it.
"It almost makes you forget about all of your troubles. About just how far away from home you are...in such a strange and unfamiliar land, surrounded by total strangers. It's something familiar in an unfamiliar place. That makes it something I appreciate now more than ever..."
Realizing just how much he had rambled on, he laughed awkwardly.
"Please, just forget about all of that! I'm sure you have plenty of your own problems to think about right now. Like I said, don't mind me at all."

Decoda walked outside, and sat down beside Tybalt. "I don't often get the chance to look at the moon." She looked at Tybalt. "When I was an angel, I really never had the time...with training to become a guardian angel, and now being a fallen angel, I suppose I'd have more freedom to just sit and enjoy the small things that I never could enjoy before." She looked up at the moon, then looked back at Tybalt. "Nonsense." She said to him. "I consider you to be a friend, and nothing is more important to me, than my friends. I don't really have family in the conventional sense, so in a way, those that are my friends, are my family." She paused for a moment. "I hope I didn't cross a line saying that."

Jokan glared at the men, who didn't move.
"They're friendly, they're here to help us!"
A large, one-legged grizzled man lurched forward, growling.
"LOWER YOUR DAMNED WEAPONS!!" The men reluctantly complied. "If Jokan says that this baby, bookworm and upholstery are useful, then I'll believe him. Although," he said, stepping up to Amelia and glaring down at her, "I wanna know just what game you're playing here..."

Maraud did not like angels, as a rule.
He did not like Semira either.
And he 100% absolutely positively detested those two bloody mischief-makers. So, he decided to make his appearance.
"You know," he said, stepping out from behind them. "I would have thought that after the pair of you BLEW UP MY CASTLE, you would have made enough money to retire. How come you're still stirring stuff up... Gabriel?" He said the name like he was describing vermin.

Semira smirked when he mentioned her punishment
"I would so LOVE to see what kind of 'punishment' you have in store for me"
she started walking towards Sauriel calmly. her staff at the ready. She raised her brow when the pillars of light formed around him
"I must say I'm quite impressed, all great and powerful Sauriel...
she said mockingly
"Your god must really be naive, to allow you to have such a great power after you went against him several years ago"
she crossed her arms
"He must have made you forget what happened in order to prevent it from happening again, or for you to betray him"
she hovered above the ground slightly
"you really dont remember me do you?"


Amelia cowered when the man approached her, glaring at her. she shook her head
"I-I dont know what you mean, I'm not playing a game"
she took a step back
"J-Jokan told me we could come here"
she looked over at Jokan then her brother then back at the man
"there are bad people after me"

When Sauriel saw that the vampire he had encountered before seemed to have some sort of vendetta against the two intruders, he assumed that the situation would work itself out and focused his full attention on Semira. When she brought up their supposed past together, Sauriel stopped casting his spell, more out of curiosity than anything.
"What are you babbling about, demon? I have been nothing but faithful in my service. This supposed betrayal that you speak of, can you convince me that there is even the slightest amount of truth to it?"
Almost immediately after saying this, vague mental images were beginning to appear in Sauriel's mind. Something that had been forgotten long ago seemed to slowly creep back to the surface.
"What...what is this?! No...surely your filthy dark magic has not begun to affect me as well...?!"
Normally, he would have dismissed Semira's ideas without a second thought. In fact, he intended to, but a small doubt began to grow in the back of his mind. He clutched his head, trying to convince himself that it was just her sorcery...but even magic as powerful as hers should not be able to affect his mind this way. He settled down and spoke again in a calmer tone.
"I will listen to what you have to say. However, if I hear even the slightest deception in your words, our battle will continue in earnest."


Tybalt's eyes widened slightly and he hesitated for a moment. It was only for a moment, but that was significant since this was the first time in a long time that he has truly been at a loss for words. He turned to Decoda once he regained his composure.
"No, not at all...in fact, I really appreciate it. I've never really been that close to anyone. Even when I was at home, I was still something of an outsider because of what I am. That's a big part of the reason I started this journey, to find others who were like me. Outcasts who don't have anywhere to call home."
He smiled at Decoda, but it wasn't his usual aloof, slightly amused smile that he usually had. It was a genuine smile, showing just how much he valued her companionship.
"In that way, you and I are kind of like kindred spirits, aren't we? I don't think it was an accident that we found each other. Call it fate or destiny or whatever you want, I think that we were meant to meet each other. So, let me just say...thank you, Decoda. Thank you for being the first true friend I've ever had."

Decoda returned Tybalt's smile. "I'm glad you think so." She said in retort to his 'destiny' comment. "Since I became a fallen angel, I must say, I thought I knew more of this place than I thought...but I guess I really don't." She looked back up at the stars. "Angels are not allowed many freedoms...far less so, if you decide to be an archangel." She looked back at Tybalt. "It warms my heart to find someone not afraid to be a friend to a fallen angel."

Tybalt shook his head at Decoda's last comment.
"You should have more faith in yourself. "A fallen angel?" Nonsense. How could anyone who has sacrificed so much for what they believe possibly be called "fallen?" For my part, I consider it an honor to call you my friend."


The clones of light reacted immediately to Shula's attack, all four of them moved to defend Sauriel and they barely managed to deflect her blow. Sauriel himself dropped his spear and fell to his knees, clutching his head.
"No...inconceivable...I would never...but then...how...?"
Memories that were sealed away began to flood into his mind. The "Sauriel" that he thought he was is nothing like the "Sauriel" from these memories. For the first time, he was beginning to fully understand his intense hatred for Semira. She represented a part of his past that was being suppressed, she was a reminder of his "true self."

Tyrael and Azrael, who had been waiting at the entrance of the church as Sauriel ordered, saw that he was unfit to fight and took action. Tyrael, who specialized in barrier magic, surrounded Sauriel with a shield of light to protect him from danger. Azrael, who specialized in offensive magic, charged right towards Gabriel while charging a lightning spell. When he was close to Gabriel, he stopped and called out to him.
"Stand down, and tell the woman to do the same!"

Sauriel could hardly even focus on the events unfolding around him, as his mind was consumed with a conflict of identity. He gazed at Semira through the barrier of light that surrounded him.
"Semira...I..."
Cracks started to form in his angelic armor. While it did protect him in battle, what Sauriel did not know is that the armor had a certain enchantment on it. A spell that was meant to bend his will and keep him loyal to the cause. Now that he was regaining his identity, that armor started to fail.
"I...remember you...from that time..."

Decoda looked at Tybalt, and smiled gently. "I appreciate that." She spoke softly. "There really isn't a grey area for why I left. It was either stay, and follow the rules...or leave and forever be branded by black wings." She moved her wings slightly. "I've grown attached to how they look...but I know that I'm not like other angels."

The old man eyed them, glaring.
Then he turned and stalked off, grumbling.
Jokan motioned for them to follow him and he led them into a secret cavern concealed flawlessly within the valley walls.
"This is our outpost in order to defend against the encroaching demon forces. They're on the way to this city and stomp it flat. We're here to stop them, and... well... I happen to be very good at killing them," he said modestly.

Maraud, always one for manners, decided to wait until the business was concluded.
Perhaps they'll get tired out and be easy prey.
"For the record," he said politely, "if you call me vampy again I will turn your companion into one of my playthings and make her turn your weak fleshy confines inside out."

Tybalt looked intently at Decoda's wings.
"Different from other angels, huh? Maybe that's not such a bad thing. I've met a few other angels and they weren't nearly as...easy to get along with as you are."
He smiled brightly at her.
"Besides, I think they look great on you. Really!"


Sauriel focused on remembering what happened that day. As he pulled at those sealed memories, they finally started to flood back into his mind, clear as crystal.
"I lost faith in their philosophy. It became more difficult by the day to justify their methods and goals. I was convinced that even if we were to win the war, the peace that I had hoped for would not come."
His armor cracked even further as he remembered walking into the bar that day.
"That day...it had not been long since I abandoned my post as archangel. I had heard of the human custom of going to a "bar" to "drown one's sorrows."

Having heard enough, Tyrael and Azrael stopped their spells, took flight and left the area. As far as they were concerned, Sauriel was a heretic who should be left to his fate. They muttered curses at him under their breath as they left.

Sauriel stood up and watched the other angels leave, then he turned back to Semira.
"To answer your question...what I want--"
He was soon interrupted by the voice of another angel. It was the head of the church, who had been watching the entire time from the shadows.
"NO! Sauriel, it is not too late for you to be redeemed! Fulfill your purpose! Strike down this wretched demon!"
Sauriel looked towards him. His eyes started to glow in rage.
"You...I remember you now..."
He picked up his spear and took a few steps towards the angel, who was standing on a nearby rooftop.
"You were there. You watched as I left. You told me that you needed to meet with me. That was when...you lead me into a trap. When I woke up...I was in this cursed armor, next to this cursed spear of yours!"
The angel nervously looked at Sauriel.
"I did what needed to be done. And I was not alone...it was decided that you were too valuable of an asset to waste! We...we helped you! We led you back to the light! We turned you back into the powerful holy warrior that you were meant to be!
Sauriel's armor cracked even more and started to glow.
"What you did...was take my freedom away from me! Remiel!!!"
He charged his spear with light and threw it at Remiel. Remiel tried to block it with a magical barrier, but the spear soon broke through and pierced his heart, killing him instantly. Afterwards, Sauriel's armor shined brightly and finally broke apart, the pieces then turned into pure energy and disappeared. His spear also disappeared soon after.
