(Hello again guys, finally back into RP'in and about time I did too)

Twin Moons

Two worlds, almost exact... A bridge to separate the gap... There once was a powerful wizard in the nation of Anleft. He usually stayed in his great keep and experimented on things that were much unknown to the people. His experiments reached far into the unknown aspects of magic, and the results were very unpredictable. The people feared him, and for a good reason too. The city of Vinbor, which only sat only about a mile and a half from the wizard's keep kept a careful eye on it, always ready if another malady erupts from the depths of the keep. However, what was to come was very unexpected indeed...

It was upon a strange night, the sky was covered in a unusually thick haze and the city was dead silent. The keep's greatest tower was flickering with a light, a sure sign that the wizard was at work with one of his experiments again. Then suddenly, lights burst brightly into the fog, lighting up the sky like midday and then there was a sudden explosion of wind, knocking those who were outdoors down and shattering windows.

The keep was found the next day completely deserted. The walls were crumbling, as if they aged a few thousand years. Mosses and vines grew against the tower and the iron gates were rusted out. The bravest of the townspeople investigated, they ventured into the keep and found a great rounded mirror, with runes carved into the wooden frame, and humming with a faint tone. The ones who glimpsed into the mirror saw a reflection of the tower, yet it was different. They stared into the enchanted glass until they saw something truly terrible. They scrambled out, never to return to it again.


The keep was left abandoned for a long time, very few ever dared to set foot close to the building. However, that was to be changed....


TL;DR Version: There was a Wizard who's experimentation caused a series of strange events to occur on a night, and his keep was found afterward deserted and an enchanted mirror was found inside, what was seen in the mirror was something terrible and people don't go near the tower, but that is to change.


World Information:
The technology of the world is up to the 1900s. Things can get steampunk too.
The city, Visbor, is quite isolated and large.
Magic does exist here

Abilities: Soul Magic - She can Summon, Attack and Augment Souls.
Weapons: Book of Souls - Contains everything she needs to know about souls. It is also big, heavy and hurts if you get knocked broadside of the head with it.
Personality Notes (If any): She can be rather talkative and often acts before thinking. She is also a devout believer in the religion of her Clan and has been know to uphold its traditions.

It was about midday in the city of Visbor. The people were busting about in the eastern marketplace, the most popular part of the city where street vendors line up on the paved streets selling various goods. The great clock tower that stood watch over the entire marketplace rang out aloud as both of its hands pointed vertically into the sky....

An elderly man stood on top of a pedestal in front of the tower, and spoke aloud. "Good afternoon everyone, and blessings be upon you, for today is the feast of Springtide! Today the Thamic clan invites you all to a evening picnic, everyone is invited to celebrate with us!". The old man was an elder from the Thamic clan, a well respected family in the city. "Now, this picnic is being held outside the East gate, in just a few hours as well. We hope to see many of you join us!"


OOT: ...An occasion to really start this up...

Rei sat on top of the clock tower and looked down at the city as people went about their live. At that height the wing blew through her long black hair and caused her clothes to ruffle. Her upper body was wrapped in bandages, from just above her midriff and covering up to her neck. She wore a short skirt that was but at both sides and beneath that tight black shorts which reached slightly further down. Her feet were also wrapped with bandages, that covered from past her toes to above her ankle. To top it off she also wore a light bandoleer with only a few pockets and a large strap on its back that tightly secured the over sized 'Book of Souls'.

"This place always gets so lively... It kinda reminds me of home..."

A crowd of people made their way to the Eastern gate, carrying large fabrics and carrying baskets. These people were preparing for the upcoming feast. The Eastern gate stood directly connected to the marketplace, and two great bronze mechanical constructs watched over the passing crowd at them. A man tired to pass the gate hurriedly and leaning forward as to conceal himself, but one of the constructs grabbed him by the collar of his shirt. "Oh no you don't" The construct spoke in a humorous voice that did not suit it, "I remember last time you went to the festival, and you sure aren't going to make a mess of things again this year!". The man struggled in an attempt to free himself of the mechanical giant's grip. The construct sparked around the neck, "I-I am going to make s-s-sure you don't ruin it again this year... You won't p-past this gate." The construct sparked again. "Uhh, D-darned mechanic can't f-f-fix an-anything!" The construct complained to itself. Its neck sparked again and its head turned at a crook, "Ugh..", the construct placed the man down and readjusted its head back. "Thats better... Now then..." The construct noticed the man was not there anymore. It looked into the crowd but did not find him, "Where did... Oh no..."

Rei stood up and walked to the edge of the clock towers roof, she looked down below for a few moments before tuning around and lowering herself so that she dangled from it. After a moments pause she swung her body and entered the tower through an open window. It too k her longer than anticipated to climb down to the bottom floor but she eventually made it and then headed towards the eastern gate. There seemed to be a lot of people all bustling down the street which was to be expected and if anything worked to her advantage seeing as her outfit was not exactly of the norm for the city. As she approached the gate someone knocked into her and she fell to the ground, out of instinct she rolled to the side and found herself out of the crowd and standing a few feet from one a Mechanical Construct. It seemed to be talking to someone but she had little interest in the conversation however was forced to wait as a few bystanders blocked her way. Upon the construct releasing the man she saw a break in the crowd and hurried in. She followed the man in the hope that doing so would avoid the worst of the crowd.

Personality Notes: shy around new people, mostly quiet, doesnt like to fight unless she really has to, is a childhood friend of Asmodeus. he is the only person she isnt as shy around

Abilities: Short range teleportation. 50M range, and requires the user to be able to see his destination.
Weapons: Repeating, collapsible, multi-purpose crossbow.

Personality Notes (If any): He's a sly, and can be rather manipulative when the situation calls for it. However, he has very understanding of anything outside of his area of expertise.

It is about an hour before the festival begins, and the people are making final preparations. They are pitching the few remaining tents and cooking meals. The amount of resources and effort put into this is rather astonishing. The sun hung at a 45 degree angle off the horizon, just over the view of the old keep, which stood still and uneventful as ever...

The man who escaped from the guardian construct sat on a branch, well covered by the shade and leaves. He seemed to be watching for someone or something, keeping an eye out in the crowds.

Rei had finally broken out of the crowd but lost the man in doing so. She climbed up a near by elevation in the terrain so that she could see at least a few feet over the people that were heading toward the festival. Several minutes passed before she gave up and sat under a nearby tree, unaware of the man above her. She continued to watch the people pass by as she stretched and rested against the tree, finding a comfortable place on the bark.

"Seems that plan didn't work out..."

Personality - Happy, go lucky, little slow - but has a problem with sometimes viewing humans as mere "playthings"; his best friend from his childhood is Nydia, who he never frowns at. Friends from almost too far back to remember, they stay with each other through thick and thin.

nydia was sitting in the livingroom of their home reading a book before she heard the commotion outside. she leaned up and glanced out the window seeing the tents being set up
"it seems the festival is about to begin"
she said quietly to herself before looking back into her book
"i wonder if Asmodeus is going to attend it this year"
she settled back against the arm of the couch and proceeded to read again

Abilities:Brief invisibility and silent footsteps, flat footed.
Weapons:Right hand was cut off. Replaced with a glove, has spikes for fingertips,also uses blow darts. The stick is disguised as a cane.
Personality Notes (If any): Very friendly, But Inconsiderate, Doesn't take others opinions into matter or their well being.

A chain of bells were wrung, the feast was beginning. Food and drink were piled upon tables, making vast monuments of food. Children were at play, and there was plenty of fanfare. Many people came to attend, presumably mostly from the Eastern quarter of the city. The scene was picturesque, yet something stirred...

The man sat in the tree, still observing the crowds, scanning his eyes over as many people as he could...

Rei yawned, casting her head back as she did. There was a sudden stopping force followed by a slight blunt pain,
"Owies...", she said somewhat childishly before rubbing her head.

Rei paused briefly as she looked up at the tree branches above her, there was a figure sitting on top of one of the branches, almost completely hidden by the leaves of the tree.
"Hey, what are you doing up there? Avoiding the crowd?".

The man looked down from the branch at the girl, she was sure different from the crowd and gave her a long look with his surveying eyes. He breathed a sign of relief and looked back at the crowd. However, knowing that she probably won't take silence, he simply responded to her question, "Looking"

A look of disappointment struck Rei, she had been hoping for a bit more than 'looking'.

The was a slight shaking followed by a loud rustling as Rei appeared on the branch below the man. She leaned against the tree using the book to help balance her on the thin branch. On most trees the weight of the book might have snapped the branch however Rei had gotten pretty use to keeping it in a spot where the branch was strongest. Although an odd thing to know, it is a helpful bit of information to her as she travels a lot via the higher ground, whether trees or buildings.

"Whatcha looking for?"

The man on the branch jumped down onto the ground. He spun around and pointed at the setting sun, and with his other hand, he pointed in the opposite direction, towards the old wizard's keep. "Watch, you will see what I was looking for" he said. The sun still gleamed on the wizard's tallest tower, the place where his experiments took place. A large window faced towards them and the suns rays were directed into it. A gleam of light reflected out of the window, much like a lighthouse. The reflected light was concentrated onto the ground, it was slowly moving towards the middle of the field, which was what distanced the city and the keep. The beam of light reached the middle of the field and froze in place.

"This happens once a week, exactly at the same time too", The man explained. He moved his arms to point at the spot where the reflected light was concentrated. The light was reflecting from something inside the tower, and out the window and onto the field. "Someone will come to it, wearing dark robes...". Exactly as he said that, someone emerged from the crowds and walked his way into the fields, far from the activity. The robed person marched his way to the spot, and fell to his knees in the middle of reflected light. He moved his hands into a pocket in his robes and pulled out something small and placed it in the middle of the light. He then rose and walked back into the crowds...

"They never done that before..."

Rei jumped down from the tree and followed his gaze then looked at the robed man before looking back at the stranger. She thought for a moment and looked up to the tree then back to him.

"Well if they haven't done it before... Lets go ask them",

She grabbed his still outstretched arm and pulled him along with her as she started towards the crowd.

"I don't think we would be able to find him in this dense crowd" He replied. "But, I do want to see what he left behind over there" He spoke, pointing back to the reflected light.

Rei sighed and let go of him, She stopped and turned, placing her hands on her hips.

"That is flawed... If we find him we can ask him what it is and find out who he is!",

She smiled at her "brilliant" plan. Then pointed in a random direction that she hoped the man was in, giving the man a "come on" motion before placing one foot in front of the other and attempting to pull him after her again.

He raised one eyebrow, "You really want to find that man? Be my guest, but I don't wanna be responsible if he turns out to be a dangerous lunatic" He turned to the side a bit, "For me, I'm gonna find what that man left behind over there. If you find something out about that man, then return back to this very tree".

He parted ways and walked towards the reflected light. Half way towards it, the light dimmed out and faded away, yet whatever the strange man left behind was giving off a green glimmer. The man walked up to the spot, and leaned over the object, it was a coin of some sort. He picked up, it said "Cower" on one side. He flipped it around and it said, "Tremble" on the other side. Runes were delicately etched on the edges of the faces of the coin. "Odd coin" he muttered as he put it in his pocket, walking back to the tree in case that girl would make it back...

Rei didn't bother chasing him nor the man... Instead just went back to the tree and climbed up to its lowest branches, throwing leaves to the ground below due to boredom.

The man came back to the tree, half surprised to see her there. "Did you find him?" he asked her. He pulled the coin out of his pocket and started to flip if into the air repeatedly.


The festival was under full swing under the rising moon. People were beginning to engorge themselves with food under the light of paper lanterns. The sound of instruments playing filled the air with lovely music. People were enjoying themselves, like every time before in the festival of springtide.

Rei looked down at the man and shook her head. She waited a few moments before hanging off the branch and dropping to the ground below.

"I didn't bother... The crowd was too big",

She sounded slightly embarrassed due to the fact she gave up without trying. Though she was telling the truth and chances are she wouldn't have found him anyway.
