she thought for a moment
"i cant really think of anything unless you know of another place to show me?"
she looked at him
"this place is amazing"

He looked at her again, and loved the joy in her eyes.
"You think this is amazing?"
He charged up his energy again, and still holding her hand raised his fingers to click.
"I'll show you amazing... and don't let go."

He clicked his fingers, and the world went away.
Then...
"We're here," he said softly.
And the pair of them looked at the universe.

Stars whirled through the inky black void, planets of every shape and size hung in existence, suns burned and great energies whirled to and fro across the vast nothingness.
"This is a universe where the creation is still beginning... always beginning, never getting beyond this stage... but it's... amazing... the greatest sight in the universe, a sight which now, only two people have seen..." He squeezed her hand to indicate who he meant, then looked at her.
"So... what do you think of THIS then?"

she looked around in amazement at what she was seeing
"i-it amazing, its breathtaking, there is no words to thoroughly describe this"
she looked at him
"THIS is beyond anything i could imagine seeing thank you"
she looked around even more with a smile on her face

"You're welcome, of course..."
He tugged slightly, and they gently soared through the cosmos, passing planets, orbiting stars, looping through constellations and dancing through space-dust.
"I can take you to anywhere, anyplace, anytime... I can save lives, I save realities, I try to, and I don't fail most of the time, but..."
He looked at her again, enjoying the rapt look on her face.
"I give you this so I can see the real you, the you inside the damage, the pain, the death..."
He smiled at her.
"And I think that here, the real you can be free... there's no king, no mothers, no men, no nothing. Just you, me, and the universe..."

she looked at him and smiled
"but why?"
she looked around
"why show me of all people, why are you being so kind to me, you dont know me yet you have shown this amazing, breathtaking place"

He chuckled, and they spun through space seeing all the infinite wonders of the universe blur past as they span.
"Because, and this is going to sound corny, you're a very special girl..."
They were looping over each other and he smiled at her again.
"The temporal-spatial disturbance I felt was on an unprecedented scale - the whole course of the future just changed in our reality a few moments ago. And at the center of it, I found you."
He stopped spinning with her, and just looked at her face, framed by the cosmos.
"That, and you seem... nice. And nice people who have had bad things happen to them deserve to have lots of good little things or a few big good things or preferably a lot of big good things happen to them. Simple. That, and seeing you smile, seeing your beautiful face light up with wondrous joy... now that's wonderful."
A pause.
"Sorry, bit of a diehard romantic."
He laughed again, then cocked his head.
"It's funny... I've shown you the most privileged view in the universe and I don't even know your name..."

she chuckled a little
"i guess i did forget to tell you my name, i was dealing with daemon when you appeared, my name is ella, and thank you for your kind word its nice to hear a compliment. the man i was to marry was somewhat of a romantic, but i doubt he would have been able to do all this"
she gestured around
"i thank you for showing me your kindness, and these magnificent places, i dont think i have smiled like this for months, not since the attack"

"Glad to be of help..."

They landed on an asteroid careening through nothingness and he laid on his back, one hand behind his head, the second holding hers.
"Tell me about this man you were going to marry... did you love him? Was he a charming classic fairytale prince like they all should be?"

she sat down next to him
"well after i was cast out, i spent two weeks savaging for food. mainly i would help others out and in return they would give me food in return. The day his mother found me i hadnt eaten for tw,o days. i was sitting outside one of the building hoping someone would come by and give me something to eat. she approached me and ask where my family was, when i told her what happened she offered to take me in and care for me."

she looked up
"when she took me to the estate, thats when i met him, he was three years older then i and very sweet. he showed me my room and took care of me. The scar on my neck was still sore and slightly infected, he cleaned it up and took care of it for me. The first night i stayed at the estate, i was scared, so he stayed by my bedside and stroked my hair until i fell asleep. He never left my side all night and every night he would stay by my side untl i fell asleep. Over time i was part of the family, his mother and father were so wondeful to me. the two of us eventually fell in love and when i turned 17 he asked for my hand and of course i said yes. I was soo happy i had finally found happiness. I was going to be married but then...."
she trailed off
"the attack happened"

Daemon sighed once they disappeared and sat down again, eating from a pack of crisps,
"Well... Not what I would call normal... But not the strangest thing I have seen..."

"I'm sorry. But in my honest opinion, it's better to know love and lose it then don't love at all."
He smiled gently, squeezing her hand.
"He sounds like he was a real Prince Charming. And if it's any consolation, there are billions of other realities where you and he happily married and are living peaceful lives."

He looked up at the endless sky of eternal change, and pointed to a star.
"That star, that one right there. That star will grow to be our sun, then it'll shine down on Earth in our reality. It's odd to realize how little we are in comparison to the universe, although our ordeals seem anything but."
He looked back at her.
"In a billion realities, a billion yous are killing a billion kings at this very second... taking revenge for a billion Prince Charmings..."
He smiled again.
"I know I can't take away the hurt, and it was wrong of me to bring it up. But I'll tell you what. Once we get back to our reality, I'm going to meet this king of yours and curse him to live forever with his flesh melting off his very bones... or perhaps endless devouring by spiders..."
His eyes took on a dark angry glint, and Ella could sense that there was a lot more power in this boy than she'd seen.
"How would you like him to suffer? I aim to please..."

she smiled when he said that in billions of realities she was happy and married to the man she loved
"well i am glad in some cases i am happy"
she looked at the star he pointed at explaining that it will become the sun
"it is amazing how something so small can become so big"

she looked back at him
"thank you, once we get to the king i want to see him suffer for everyone he has ever hurt or killed"

she thought for a moment
"as much as i am loving being here we did leave daemon back at the estate and i would like to have a little talk with him. If at all possible i would like to come here again, if its ok with you"

Daemon stood up and looked through the cupboards until he found a box of bandages.
He quickly took one out and unrolled it then pull up his top. He first pulled out the bullet and threw it in the sink, wincing in pain.
Daemon then began to wrap the bandages before tying them and disposing of the bullet then pulling his top back over the bandages.

He started spinning his arm around in a windmill, getting up as he did so, making the azure magic strings appear again and whipping them around his arm, building up to his finger.
"Just say the word, Ella - and I can take you to places found only in your dreams, anywhere you can imagine... anywhere at all..."

The world reformed into her house again, and they emerged out of nothingness with Daemon putting his shirt on. He relinquished his grip on Ella's hand somewhat reluctantly, and stepped away, flexing his fingers, removing the strings...

she smiled at him as they appeared in her home
"thank you again"
she looked up at daemon and her smile was gone
"you, why did you leave me to handle those men? they were here for you and not me but yet you run away leaving me to take care of them"

"Well, prisoner on the run and all that... Which does remind me",
he spun on his heels slightly and headed towards the front door,
"I'll be taking my leave before more come"

"well its too late now im sure word has already gotten back that i am helping you and they will only send more to the estate until they either a. capture you or b. take everyone prisoner until they find you"
she went quiet for a moment
"i suggest you stay and help me take care of them if they do sent more, you got me in this mess and you will help me get out of it"

Daemon stopped by the remains of the front door,
"That's all well and good but I would rather not end up dead"

There was a slight pause, then a very slight warm feeling on the back of Drevin's neck.
"See, now it's unfair to just ruin somebody's life and walk out on them afterwards. I think she's had quite enough of that," Mathuriel said quietly, one hand on his sceptre...

Daemon sighed,
"But if I am not here, then they will have no reason to kill her, correct?",

"from the looks of it they didnt seem to care, and they dont care, they will wipe out entire towns searching for you. this is the king we are talking about when he wants something he will do everything in his power to get it no matter the cost"
she shook her head before sitting down in a chair

"That works for me",
Daemon began to walk out then spun on his heal to face Mathuliel,
"Mind you, if he starts attacking places that isn't going to go unnoticed, so... If anything it will be good in the long term",
he placed two fingers to his forehead in a salute, winked and turned around again walking out of the house

He watched Daemon go.
"Well, how rude... want me to curse his buttocks to eternally try and escape his pants?"

she shook her head
"no but watch this"
she waved her hand and a bolt of lightening shot our from it aimed at daemon

Daemon spun and struck the lightning with his hand causing it to explode into sparks and fade,
"Not a smart move"
