Boris shook his head grimly.

"I don't think you follow what I'm saying. Other than you, I am the only person remaining with medical knowledge, and my knowledge is basic at best. The Empire's Army required that I learn some field medicine before being deployed. All troops had to."

Realizing he hadn't necessarily explained yet, he continued on.

"The rest of the medics and doctors are dead. They tended to be nearing the end as far as their age was concerned. Very few died from unnatural causes, so don't be worried."

Boris pulled out a map and traced his finger along it.

"As for medical facilities...we have had several different ones, but each has been repurposed into something more useful. Thought a medical facility is pretty much the definition of useful, it is not when you have no one to work in it."

Liora looked down
"I see, so then we are the only two"
She took a few moments to think
"Well ...what about a small medical facility?"
she looked up at him
"No point in having a large one when we only have a select few to work in it. I''m sure we can find people who would be willing to learn the basics and can allow them to handle the smaller tasks. I can handle the larger tasks as well as you..."
She paused for a moment
"That is if you want to"

Boris shook his head.
"I'm afraid I'm no good at healing. Only destruction."
He put his plate into the wash bin and continued on.
"Anyway - my answer is yes. You may train yourself a staff of your choosing. All I ask is that you inform me of your plans when they come up. Your building should be renovated within the week, and in the meantime you are free to use my home for any small things that need to be done, though I would prefer to not have wounded men spending the night in my home. As I'm sure you would too."

Liora nodded
"I will do what i can and i will keep you informed of my plans" She smiled
"And you dont have to worry about wounded men spending the night here. Your kind enough to let me stay here, I wouldn't want to do anything to jeopardize that."
She grabbed her book and the baton
"If I attend to anyone that is wounded in the time it takes to get the facility up... I will just simply go to them. Can i request to have someone with me when I do the visits to them. For safety reasons?"

Boris pondered for a moment before responding.
"I believe I have just the man. Sergeant Hernandez is his name. I would trust him with my life."

Archking looked back at her.
"I'm fine. Just thinking."
He gave a wry smirk. "The past is not a place you or I enjoy revisiting, is it? But perhaps, tis fate that we find ourselves here. I have become a very important person here. Same as back home. Well... my home no longer exists."
He let the smirk fade.
"And I know your story. I just want to say, if you ever need anything, whether it's to just to talk or something more concrete, I am here as your friend as well as your boss." He said it laughingly, but his eyes were serious.

Liora looked at him
"Will he be willing to do that?"
She looked a little worried
"Could i possibly meet him.."
She paused for a moment
"After i rest of course. I'm a little tired"
She clutched the books to her chest
"Umm if its not to much to ask where will i be sleeping?"


Valia nodded
"Thank you but.."
She had a questioning look on her face
"H-How do you know about my...past?"
She looked a little worried wondering what of her past he knew about. She fiddled with the the hem of her skirt
"You are right, I dont enjoy revisiting the past...its....painful"
She looked down to fight back the tears. She didn't want her boss to see her cry. She wanted to get back to work to get her mind off the past
"I'm sorry"
She quickly got up and started clearing up the dishes from their tea
"I've kept you from your work. I'll move this out of your way and get back to filing the inventory"
She made her way for the door but turned back
"And thank you"
She smiled

Archking gave her a encouraging smile, then nodded.
"Go on then. I suppose those files won't sort themselves."

A few hours later, he walked out to her desk.
"Don't open this until you've got a spare moment."
He placed an envelope on her desk.
"Enjoy the rest of your day Valia. If you need anything, just call."
He walked back into his office, and returned to his work.

Archking had just finished some personal affairs he wanted to set in order, and promptly turned around to face the door.
"Good timing, I'd just finished. What do you need?"

Archking had a quick check through them.
"All seems to be in order."
He looked up at her, and looked a little uncomfortable.
"Well, actually... seeing as you're not doing anything this evening, and neither am I... would you like to go out to... somewhere?"
He blushed and looked down at the desk as though he'd just noticed an interesting mark on the wood.

Archking blushed a little.
"I've never asked out a commoner before - er, ah, I mean, not to be rude!"
He instantly shook his head.
"Er... there's a nice little restaurant, The Seared Cheer. It's not much, but the food's good and... I wouldn't mind a meal with you there... I... guess."
He hung his head.
"I'm not good with people," he quietly whimpered.

Archking hastily bustled through the rest of his notes, sorting them all out and sending all necessary files off.
Then he joined Valia.
"Er... shall we?"

Archking took them and sniffed the canister.
His face relaxed into a smile.
"Cookies. Splendid."
He got up without taking anything, except of course his wallet.

"Let's go then."

The Seared Cheer was a grill restaurant, where the main attraction was the fact it had the largest grill in all the Biodomes. This meant that everything on the menu was grilled - the only downside was a long waiting time for the meal. This feature in itself added another upside - not many organisations did business here. Not many important powers in the factions could afford to be seen with the other. As a result, incognito business deals became nearly impossible, at least without attracting suspicion. To two people just enjoying each other's company, it was perfect.
"What do you like to eat? I never asked..." Archking inquired, timidly, as they were sat at their table...

"Just the grilled ham then. I heard it's great. I'll have that too actually."
The waiter, a large man who looked like he ate babies for dinner, took their order and left to the kitchen.
"So, what do you think about the biodomes then? Good or bad idea?" Archking asked, reclining on his chair.

"I agree."
Archking looked out of the window.
"Like I said, not all of us deserve to be here."
He looked back at her and smiled.
"Listen, I'm just going to go to the bathroom. Feel free to read the envelope I gave you earlier if you want, entirely up to you."
He smiled again, a little wryly and walked off to the bathroom.

Inside the envelope were a complete copy of Valia's files, complete with criminal record and notes from her trial.
A note was attached, saying "Valia. I know all about you. And I don't blame you one bit. You're an amazing secretary, and an even more amazing person. Sincerely, Archking Nuichburg II."

Archking returned from the bathroom, and saw her holding the envelope. He sat down, awaiting her response.
