The lightning struck three of the men and caused the fourth to fall back along the ground in a poor attempt to dodge. Further barrages of bullets came from the four further back as the man on the floor scrambled to his feet and pulled out a combat knife before attempting to strike at Ella.

Daemon laid back slightly watching the fight,
"If you ask me really nicely I might help"

ella looked over at daemon
"it would be nice if you could help not that i need it but i dont want to exhaust myself yet again with these attacks"
she blasted a lightening orb at the man coming toward her with a combat knife the lightening striking the bullets firing towards her
"please"

Daemon smiled,
"All it takes",

The man dropped the knife and fell back rapidly shaking his hand from the shock the just struck him. The other four spread out and found cover, taking a moment to reload. One quickly turned and took a shot at Daemon.

There was an explosion of sparks followed by a white flash of lightning and the appearance of Daemon above the man,
"Falling...",
Daemon twisted his body and lowered his hand towards the man,
"Thunder!",
an intense blast of pressurized air struck the man launching both himself and Daemon back. Daemon turned his body in the air and landed on the ground, skidding across and kicking up dust. The man who was hit lay on the ground, various lacerations beginning to appear and seep with blood.

The three remaining gunmen rushed out again, running straight for Ella. The man on the floor suddenly grabbed just above her ankle,
"Your mine!"

Before Ellla, the men, or even Daemon could react, there was a flash of light.

By the time all of them could see again -

"So as I was saying, General Cuddles, that seems to be the problem."

A table had materialised in the middle of the room.
Sitting at the table, still in his robes, was Mathuriel.

Sitting at the table alongside him, were eight extremely well-dressed grizzly bears.

The largest bear, who held a cup of tea and a monocle, looked over at the men.
It sipped it's tea, put down the cup, then politely removed it's monocle.
"Quite," it said.

Then all the bears let out a roar and charged at the three remaining gun-men, not looking like they were about to offer a round of croquet...

when ella saw the bears in suit she paused for a moment surprised at what she was seeing
"what on earth?"
she looked over at Mathuriel
"how did you, where did they come from?"

"Saw the problem, traveled to an alternate dimension where humanity is replaced by highly intelligent bears, ingratiated myself into their culture, gained their trust, became good friends, had many marvelous adventures, and then came back here to help deal with ruffians," Mathuriel said brightly.
"Hope that's not too over-the-top..." he added...

ella kicked the man who had a hold of her leg
"maybe just a tad, but glad you made it to help"
she smiled as she backed away allowing the bears to do the rest

ella waved her hand creating a wave of lightening towards the men striking the bullets along the way
"your guns are useless against my lightening"

ella jumped into the air as the man charged doing a back flip and landing just behind him in a crouch, she swiftly swung her leg to kick his leg out from under him at the same time she prepared and orb in her hand ready to use it on him

Mathuriel watched with a concerned air, but it seemed Ella had her side covered.
He was charging up again the whole time, and when the man threw the bomb at General Cuddles he ran forwards, caught the bomb from the air, snapped his fingers, vanished before it could explode, then reappeared.

"For anyone who's concerned, that bomb is now married to another bomb, has had five bomb children and has started a small clothes making company. Very good worker."

Then he pulled out his focuses.
They began to glow with yellow light as the bears continued their dignified rampage...

ella held the orb up in front of him
"you come into MY house, wreck MY things, attack ME and everyone around me, and you dont want me to hurt you?.... give me one good reason not to"
her eyes started glowing even brighter, large bolts of lighting struck down all around her

The bears had had their fun, and the bulk of the men were now tucked under their arms to use either as slaves, lunch or worse - croquet mallet spare parts.

Mathuriel returned them home, then reappeared, looking at the men, his focuses now fully charged.

"Sorry, old pals... but the party ends now."

He clanged the focuses together, releasing a golden pulse of energy that slammed into them...

ella retracted the orb and her lightening, placing her hands on her knees catching her breath
"damn, i think i over did it a bit"
she took a few moment to compose herself
" she sat down on a chair nearby to rest"

Noticing Ella slumping - as well as the arrival of the stranger, Mathuriel began to spin his arms again, in case he needed to get the pair out of here at top speed...

"Daemon of the Black Storm, you are wanted for an attempt on the kings life as well as several accounts of treason and to top that off the murder of four guards. If you surrender yourself now then your charges shall remain frozen and not include today's new additions.",
The stranger struck his staff into the ground releasing a blast of pressurised air from around it,
"Now drop your weapons and get on the floor".

Daemon sighed and crossed his arms stepping out in front of the stranger,
"I'll pass, I am not a fan execution"

ella looked up at the armored man
"another one"
she looked at daemon
"boy you must have really pissed them off for them to be coming after you like this"
she sighed
"but this is still MY home"
she looked back over to the man
"so illl ask you this one time... leave"

ella stood up and crossed her arms
"i will not surrender to you"

Mathuriel had almost finished charging up again.
"Sorry, but historically speaking it doesn't go too well for people who surrender."

Mathuriel finished charging and readied his focuses, one arm now wrapped in glowing magic strings.

"With all due respect... eat a werewolf groin."
