"Good."

Mathuriel smiled kindly at her, then looked at Daemon with a look that was neither appraising nor disapproving.

"Any particular reason you decided to risk her safety by testing her like that?"

Daemon gave an accused look,
"I wasn't testing anything"

ella looked up at daemon
"then why did it take you so long to help?"
she slowly started to get up

"It seemed to me," said Mathuriel innocently, "that you were seeing how capable she was at handling that particularly skilled ruffian before decidedly intervening. Hardly courteous, if I may say so..."

"Ugh, whatever...",
Daemon exploded into sparks and disappeared.

Mathuriel raised an eyebrow.
"Unexpected..?"

Then he smiled.
"I will have fun with him, I think..."
Then he turned and looked at Ella again.
"Can I get you anything? A drink, some sustenance? Just being polite, manners make the man and all that...?"

she shook her head when deamon vanished
"well i guess we dont have to worry about him, i just hope no more of those knights show up"
ella smiled at Mathuriel and shook her head
" thank you for your kindness but but i think i should be fine"
she started walking towards the estate,
"would you like me to fix you something to eat, there is plenty of food inside"

Mathuriel flashed her a smile, adjusting his robes and looking at the spot where Daemon vanished.
"My dear Ella, you are too kind."

A short while later (Mathuriel refused not to help) the pair of them were sitting down at the table with a cool fruity drink and a charming plate of ham and cheese (with a strange condiment from another dimension Mathuriel called "mayonnaise") cooling down after their bout.

Mathuriel looked concernedly at Ella again.
"Are you sure you're alright?"

ella nodded
"yeah i should be fine i just overdid it, im not used to using my ability that much"
she picked up her sandwich and took a bite of it
"ive only been able to practice from time to time but im getting better as i practice"

"Practice makes perfect, as they say..."
Mathuriel took a bite of his sandwich too.

He licked his finger and held it in the air, seemingly feeling the wind.
"Well, all seems quiet in other dimensions, nothing too drastically needing my attention or else they'll do what they did on that world where instead of an ocean, there was just a whole bunch of dragons and just start worshipping me as a god... although the offered sex was nice, I had to decline..."
He smiled at the memory, taking another bite.
"And those damsels were tempting..."

ella tilted her head
"why did you decline, if you dont mind my asking"
she took another bite of her sandwich
"how did you get your abilities, were you born with them or were they granted to you?"

"Being a god is actually not a sweet gig. Trust me, I tried it once. Two messed up sacrifices and ritual bloodlettings later, I had to make a quick escape."
He raised an eyebrow at the memory.

"And as for my spells, I enrolled at a school that found magical talents. Mine was in the rare art of dimension walking, and cursing. I can curse a blue streak magically, wreaking all sorts of havoc, and I can travel to alternate dimensions. My focuses are just enchanted, I don't power them."

He looked at her.
"I know how you got your powers... unfortunately. Heh... I wonder who's stronger, out of the pair of us..."

ella shook her head
"im not that strong, so your probably stronger then me , i can only hold out for so long before my power drain me"
she sat back in her seat
"how long did you have to study for, in order to dimension walk and curse?"

"Well, my magical talent was apparently so intense that I was forced to enroll when I was two - for my own safety. If I hadn't been constantly honing my gifts, there's no telling what kind of effects it could have had on me. So, in total, sixteen years to get to where I am, and I'm still not perfect. I can't curse off the bat, I have to be emotionally charged. And speaking of charging, it takes ages to charge up a dimension walk and I can't do it at will without any effort."

He chuckled, and took another sandwich.

"Take away my focuses, and I'm just your average guy in a fight, unless you give me time or get me pissed."

He raised an eyebrow, thoughtfully.
"So, in practicality, you would probably take me in a fight..."

ella shook her head
"i dont like to fight unless i have to"
she took another bite of her sandwich
"sixteen years then, thats a long time, ive had to practice on my own and it was only recently that i really needed to use my ability"
she went quiet for a moment
"well since the king and his pawns started to take over, is was my only means of defending myself, everyone i knew are all...."
she trailed off not finishing what she was gonna say

Mathuriel's smile died a little.
"Yeah... I can imagine."

He didn't say anything for a moment.
Then he twitched, as though something had just stung him, and he gingerly got up.
"Oh... I hate it when this happens..."

Mathuriel's clothes were beginning to glow, as well as vibrate furiously...

ella looked up at him
"when what happens?"
she stood up from her seat when she saw his clothes glowing
"whats going on, why are your clothed glowing"
she took a few steps back

Mathuriel gave an annoyed sigh - as a dimensional portal suddenly tore itself open to his right, and all of his clothes hurtled through it, leaving him completely and totally naked.

"One moment..."

He started winding his hands again, charging his magic up, still completely nude...

ella mouth gaped open as he was in the nude before him
"i..um...ok"
she turned her head away quickly as to not stare at the naked Mathuriel before her
"um take your time"

He wound his arms some more, wincing.
"Ow... arm cramps."

FLASH!!

He felt his robes around him again, and smiled, thinking he was alright.
"Right... that everything?"

However, he was only wearing his robes. Meaning underneath it, he was swinging wild and free...

ella kept her head turned
'so its safe to look then?, has this happened before by any chance?"
she peeked her eyes open noticing he was in a robe
"i wasnt expecting that to happen"

Mathuriel smiled at her and flicked out his arms, causing his robe to flutter - unbeknownst to him, exposing the naked flesh beneath in all it's glory.
"I think everything's in order... unless I've missed a spot?" he asked her, totally unaware that his... "magic wand" was in full view...

as the robe fluttered revealing his 'magic wand' ella blush again turning her head quickly
"i um..believe you have, apparently you only have a robe on"
she blushed even more
"um if you like there are some clothes upstairs if you want to put something on"

"What? Gadzooks!"
Mathuriel instantly covered himself, blushing furiously.
"Umm... abracadabra, hocus pocus, mumbo jumbo, woobily woo... GET ME IN SOME DAMN PANTS THIS SECOND!"
His body glowed - then mercifully he was clothed again.
"Err... sorry about that, unfortunate necessity that comes with the job... magic... hate it sometimes..."

she waved her hand still blushing
"its fine, what exactly happened?"
she turned back to look at him
"what cause all your clothes to just vanish like that?"
