The damage they did to it had the effect of driving it away from the boat, causing it to sink, wounded, back into the ocean. The tentacles retracted, severed and bleeding, and it gave an angry roar as it sank beneath the waves.

"See?" Vizard said smugly. "There was no need for me to do anything after -"

The creature rose up again, bleeding and injured, but still furious.
And on the other side of the ship, another morning star fish appeared, the ship between them.

Six eyes glowed red.

"Well, it was fun, I regret nothing -"

The beams fired, and for a split second all was red light and a searing heat.
But there was no pain, no scorching of flesh, no incinerated limbs, no bleaching of meat from the bone.
In fact, it actually felt quite breezy.

When the light faded enough for people to see again, Tyrcestus was standing on deck, completely naked, his eyes glazed, his hands in the air like he was at a rave party. A blazing shield surrounded the entire boat, and the creatures roared their displeasure at being interrupted. Tyrcestus barely managed to stagger about two feet backwards before the injured one lifted Tyrcestus into the air and promptly -

"You have to be kidding me..."

- swallowed him in one gulp.

Vizard and Gizzard had their mouths open. "AT WHAT POINT IS ABANDONING SHIP A GOOD PLAN!?"

Both creatures released their tentacles, creating double the problem of before. The captain, who had reached the floor and retrieved his harpoon, looked up as they came for him and cried, "AT THIS POINT I REALLY DON'T GIVE A FGLURRFL," as a tentacle wrapped around his face.

Clun started squishing every tentacle within reach like a game of whack-a-mole, Hexy recovered enough to mount Fweep, dodging tendrils while cursing them (literally), and Vizard and Gizzard ran around like headless chickens. Sexy, headless chickens. A few tentacles pried open Trinity's hiding spot, leaving her exposed, and a forest of grabbing tendrils stormed towards everyone else both above and below deck, now a competition to swipe the prey from the other predator.

Arisa stood on Steve's right, only a few steps behind him. "I most certainly did not order that." She said, as she gripped the handle of her katana. "But I guess we'll have more than enough when we get through them."

The fish gagged and choked on the ballista bolt, the ice around it already cracking as it thrashed, then it fell back off the boat, releasing it from it's grip as Zerron's fireball scorched it's flesh. The morning star fish flopped in the water, before recovering enough to storm back towards the boat with the intent of sending it, and everyone on it, straight to the bottom of the ocean.

The already-injured one was starting to enter a death frenzy, Sean and Tsukiyo's combined assault drastically weakening it. It suddenly twisted it's remaining arms inward, the red eyes glowing in one last desperate attempt to purge itself of it's attackers. Red lasers flew at Tsukiyo and Sean where they were standing on the beast.

All the while, the tentacles were jabbing and trying to yank everyone on deck off their feet and into the creature's maws. One wrapped around Trinity's leg in cat form, whilst below deck one curled around Arisa's sword hand and yanked her forwards, attempting to drag them away.

"Let go of me!" Arisa shrieked when she was yanked to the floor. She opened her eyes slowly when she felt her hand finally being freed from the attack of 'seafood'. She looked up at Steve, as she got to her feet. "Thank you, Steve." She spoke softly, as she gripped the handle of her katana with both hands. "Let's get through these as quickly as we can...it sounds like it's getting loud above deck."

One of the creatures started hacking and coughing, and the next moment a slimy Tyrcestus was vomited onto the deck.
"I. Am. Never. Eating. Sushi. Again." he said softly, before falling flat on his face.

Leon's bolt sent the morning star fish reeling, but it recovered enough to let loose one final roar before the damage Zerron, Tsukiyo and Sean were doing to it combined sent it fuming back into the depths.
The injured one had sacrificed too much to give up and it would either sink the boat or die. It's tentacles started dragging Trinity, Steve and the captain towards it's mighty mouth, it's appendages flailing to keep the others back as it focused on it's current food, with the tentacles groping around looking for seconds.

"NO!" Arisa shouted, as she rushed towards the tentacle with her katana poised to strike. "I'm coming Steve!" She shouted, then ran up the wall, flipping, and landing on the tentacle, driving her katana in the center of the tentacle, then twisted the blade.

"You're coming? Damn, Steve's a fast worker!" Vizard and Gizzard couldn't resist high fiving over that as they ran the opposite way on the deck, as fast as they could to get away from the tentacles.

The creature dropped Trinity and flailed it's tentacles at Tsukiyo, almost falling over onto the ship whilst grabbing Arisa as well as Steve and dragging them both forwards to be crushed under the beast's bulk. At the same time, tentacles started tearing apart the ballista - and attempting to do the same to the other denizens of the boat. The creature was no longer fighting to feed - it just wanted to kill.

As I'm hacking away at the nearby tentacles, I finally catch a quick break after cutting down a few more. I take a quick look around the deck to see how things are going and I notice a young woman being battered by a relentless tentacle attack.
"Ah, crap. Hold on, I'm on the way!"
I plant my scythe in the ground. Right now I need something quicker, but strong enough to tear through the tentacles. Come on...the perfect weapon for this would be...
"Claws!"
I say the answer out loud and summon a set of claws for my hands, then a pair of clawed boots for my feet. Then, throwing caution to the wind, I charge in with everything I've got right towards her! My new weapons cut through the tentacles without much trouble, I'm closing the distance pretty quickly. When I get there, I see a group of tentacles holding her up and some more tentacles getting ready for another attack. Time for my heroic entrance!
"GET AWAY FROM HER!!"
I jump high in the air right towards the tentacles and cut right through them on the way back down. Then I spin around, slashing away at them with my clawed hands and feet like a whirlwind until only the tentacles holding the girl up are left. Taking much more careful aim, I quickly slash them away being sure not to injure her. As the tentacles begin to regroup, I stand in front of her and call out.
"Hey, you alright?! Please tell me you can still fight...otherwise, this'll just get even worse!"

OOT: Directed towards Tsukiyo, obviously.

Arisa, hanging upside down, as the creature dragged her on deck, looked around trying to see if she can find any opportunity to strike...however, the only thing she could thing of doing, other than cutting her leg off to free herself was...
"THAT'S IT!" Arisa shouted, as she pulled out a kunai from within her brassiere. She looked at the creature's tentacle, and jammed the kunai into the tentacle.
