Amelia tilted her head
"How will you prove it to me?"

"I dont remember him getting angry and losing control when did that happen?"

The voice smiled - she could somehow hear the smile - and everything went dark.
"Let me show you...."

It had just gone noon, according to the clock on the wall.
Amelia's parents and Cryth, a little younger than Amelia was now, were standing nervously in the middle of what looked like a courtroom, with three walls of judges looking down on them from all sides.
Amelia's father spoke.
"We beg you, please reconsider this verdict!" Although he was visibly trying to keep his tone calm, his eyes revealed how desperate he really was. "There is no way that we can survive to raise her without the protection this city can afford us! You're sentencing us to death!"
At these words, their mother held on tightly to Cryth, as he stared up fearfully at the judges.
The judges adjusted their glasses.
"For the final time, we cannot and will not knowingly harbor a threat to this city. If what you say is true, and the demons can sense the child's power, they will come after her in droves. We have no choice. You must not remain in the city. The guards will escort you out if you appeal any further against the decision."
The mother looked desperately at the father, who looked at the ground trying to think of a way out.
Then, finally, he looked up.
"If you must do this, and we are sentenced to exile. Then I have one more plea."
"Sir, I have already told you-"
"TAKE MY SON!"
Cryth stared at his father. A split second later, his mother started nodding, sadly pushing him towards the benches.
"He doesn't deserve to die with us! Keep him safe! Let him live the life we can't give him!"
The judges nodded.
"Agreed. Guards, take the boy to the orphanage."
Cryth started struggling, trying to force his way back to his mother.
"MOMMY! I WON'T GO!"
She started crying, but tried pushing him away again - before hugging him close to her chest.
"I can't do it," she sobbed. "I just can't!"
His father placed a hand on her shoulder - just as the guards started prying Cryth away.
"NO! I WON'T GO! I WON'T GO! I WON'T GO!"
His mother reached out for him, but the guard strapped Cryth's arms behind his back, dragging him resolutely away from her.
With his every defense gone, his life tumbling down around him, his sobbing parents in front of his eyes about to be taken away for ever, and with nothing else left, Cryth threw his head back, lost all control, and screamed at the heavens:

"I WON'T GO!!"

CRASH.

Every single piece of glass in the building, windows, decanters, even monocles, shattered into a thousand million pieces, like dust. The arms holding Cryth relaxed and fell away, and he ran crying to his mother and fell into her arms. His parents looked up, as Cryth wailed in their arms, and stared around, horrified.
Aside from them, every single person was dead.
Blood trickled from their noses, ears, mouths and even their eyes, looks of agony on all their faces, frozen death howls. Their bodies were contorted and twisted, some of them with bones twisted at impossible angles, and others with eyes popped out of their skulls and dangling down on bloodied stalks.
Cryth bawled and bawled as a truly scared child does, and his mother picked him up.
His father stared at him, before taking a box of matches from one of the dead guards. A few moments later, the whole place was ablaze. They hurried out, leaving the room - and the corpses - to be engulfed in flames.

"Now that," said the voice, as Amelia returned to the present, "is one hell of a nightmare, wouldn't you say?"

'Me? Nah.' He turned completely to face her, a faint smile on his face.
'Already have an angel watching over me, don't need another one.'
He leaned backwards, his body beginning to fall off the building.
'You've got a nice ass though.' was the last thing he said be falling out of sight.

Decoda's face turned red. 'When did he see my butt?' She thought to herself. Before she could say anything else to the 'human/machine', he was gone. "That....was...odd."

Ameila sat there in shock
"W-was this a dream or did it actually happen?"
she pulled the covers tightly against her
"T-they tried to take my brother away because of me, tried to take him to an orphanage, Why would they do that to him?"
a tear rolled down her cheek
"oh brother"

Tybalt groaned at the anticlimactic ending to the fight he was watching.
"Hmm, that was a waste of time. I thought I was getting a good show tonight!"
Suddenly, he felt a surge of power coming from somewhere nearby. It came from a human, but a human with a power unlike anything he had ever felt. He was quite surprised at first, then his surprise turned to interest.
"Well, well, well. This just gets more and more interesting. Definitely worth checking out!"
He jumped from the roof to the ground and took a moment to tune his senses.
"Somewhere over there...running north...got him!"
He took off like a bolt of lightning. After a few moments, he caught up with the human who seemed to be clutching a book. He smiled widely and started running along with him.
"Hello, friend! Lovely night, isn't it? If you don't mind my asking...were you the source of that power I sensed earlier? That was really something!"

Cryth responded by smashing Tybalt in the face with the book he was carrying, before diving down a side alley to try and get away.

"You were quite the problem child. Both in that you were spoiled rotten and your very existence calls out to demons like a feast to the starving. Your parents told the city about you, hoping to earn some protection - the replacement council were told a fire had broken out, and your... problem was swept under the rug."

"my existence calls out to demons? "
she shook her head not wanting to believe him
"w-what do you mean? the only people that are after me are the one that want to hurt me. Mom and dad didnt mention anything about demons"
she paused for a moment
"why would the lie to me, why would brother lie to me?...."
she sat up from the bed and spoke with a stern voice
" I-I dont believe you, your just trying to scare me"

"So... what do you want to do then? We could go attack the church or we could go get that power your lusting over." Abiron didn't want to let this guy go away either but for reasons other then wanting that power Semira spoke of. The look in his eyes, that desperate look made him want to break him. He shuddered at the thought of his tormented face.

Decoda took to the air once again...this time, not flying as high, so that she could listen out for those whom might need her.

Tybalt recoiled from the hit and stopped in his tracks as the man he was following ran away.
"Ow! I can't believe he hit me!"
He rubbed his nose and groaned, clearly disappointed at what had just happened.
"I mean, who hits someone they just met with a book?! Honestly!"
After calming down for a moment, Tybalt focused and mentally searched for the mysterious man's aura. Now that he could recognize it more easily, he soon found it without much trouble.
"What kind of secrets are you hiding? What, exactly, is so important about that book you were holding? It looked like he was clutching onto it for dear life. Hmm...I'm afraid you've only driven my curiosity even further."
After muttering under his breath for a while, he started running again to catch up to his mark. He caught up after some time, but instead of confronting him directly like last time, Tybalt followed him by jumping from rooftop to rooftop just behind him, staying out of sight.

"Hmph. Deny it all you like. Why do you think that out of all the houses in the entire city, the marauding band of demons stopped at yours? Hmm."
The voice sighed.
"I don't mean to be harsh. But your world is not the one you think it is, little girlie. And if I wanted to scare you..."
A pack of marauding demons appeared out of thin air, dripping blood and slavering, pounced on Amelia with intent to devour her -
Then they vanished.
"I'd do that."
They vanished.
"Ask your brother about it all, I probably was meant to try and keep it all a secret from his darling little sister..."

Cryth felt the ivy scrunch up.
He's still following.
"GO AWAY!" he yelled, darting from alley to alley, unable to see him but knowing without a doubt the man was still coming for him.

Tybalt frowned and thought to himself.
"He can tell I'm following him? He must have some way to sense me, too..."
After landing on the next roof, he stopped. He called out to the man.
"Fine, go ahead and do whatever it was you were doing. I was just curious, but if you insist on keeping to yourself then I'll stay out of it. But just for the record...you're no fun at all."
He turned around, jumped down to the ground and started walking away, making his way to the nearest hotel to turn in for the night.

Amelia covered her ears
"I dont believe you.. You're lying..there arent any demons"
When the demons appeared she let out an ear peircing scream
"STOP PLEASE!!"
she curled up in a ball her eyes tightly shut even tho tie demons vanished she was too terrified to open her eyes all she thought to do was call out to her brother
"BROTHER!!"
she started sobbing
"Leave me alone"
she pulled the covers over her to hide

As Decoda flew she heard a child screaming. "STOP PLEASE! BROTHER!" She heard the screaming more clearly now. "Well, I can't have that." Decoda said to herself, and flew off the direction of the screaming.
"Pardon me." Decoda said cautiously as she landed on the window sil, seeing someone possibly hiding under the covers of a bed. "Are you okay, child?" Decoda asked. "I'm not here to scare you, I just want to make sure you're alright."

Cryth reached familiar territory, and felt the feeling of getting strangled by leafy ivy lessen.
Then it flared, as if set alight.
My sister needs me.
He took off, ignoring the stitch in his side.
"AMELIA! HOLD ON, I'M COMING!"

Amelia didnt come out of the covers thinking it was another trick from the one under the bed
"Where is my brother?"
She clutched the bed tighter
"I'm not coming out til he gets here"

Decoda tilted her head slightly, as she sat on the windowsill. "You don't mind if I wait here, until he gets here; do you?" She asked. She didn't want to scare the child further; but she also didn't want to leave her alone either. "My name is Decoda Darkwing...I'm an angel...sort of..." she introduced herself, hoping that my ease the child's fears better than just earring her voice.

Amelia peeked out from the covers to see decoda sitting in the windowsill
"Angel?"
she shook her head confused with everything
"I just want my brother to get here, he will clear this up. He will tell me the truth about everything"

Decoda smiled gently. "Do you want to see something?" She asked. She held out her hand towards the child, as a dim light erupted from her palm. Though it was small, and dim, it felt warm, and comforting.

Amelia watched as the light erupted from her palm. She blinked at the light but still remained under the covers.
"can you do that again..but under the bed?"
she clutched the bedding remembering the demons that appeared around her

Decoda nodded her head, as she moved the light closer to the child. She remained on the windowsill, not wanting to scare the child anymore than she already had. "You can touch it if you like." She suggested, as the light hovered close to the child.

"Hey, that's a neat little trick."
Tybalt waved to the angel as she turned around to face him.
"Sorry. Don't mind me, I haven't been here for very long. I ran over here pretty quickly when I felt the presence of demons just now. Speaking of..."
He looked around briefly.
"...Where did they go? Hmm. I suppose it doesn't matter."
He saw a girl inside the house that he was looking into. She looked pretty shaken up about something, so Tybalt tried to comfort her.
"Don't worry. Whatever happened, you'll be fine. That brother you're asking about? I think I passed him on the way here. He...doesn't seem very fond of me for some reason, so I'll probably be on my way when he gets here."
