ella stood up 
"are you sure your ok to stand? i can check it out and let you rest"
she looked towards the door
"there are others here im sure they met up with them, but ill go see who it is"
she walked towards the door

By this time Serena stopped, she heard voices coming from inside the building, but that was of little importance to her. She sat there with wet eyes, idle, she did not know what to do next. She did not move an inch from the wall she had her back against.

The warding dimensional field Mathuriel had set up sensed a crying girl against the wall.
He gingerly walked downstairs, still a little unsteady on his feet.

He rounded the corner, and leaned against it looking at the girl.
"You ok there, ma'am?" he said warily, knowing full well it was not...

Zenith saw the man head downstairs and stood up to greet him. Mathuriel seemed surprised to see her, but continued to walk outside. A woman came from downstairs.

"Um, hi there." Zenith said uneasily. She turned to Sasuro. "Who was that man just now?"

"That was Mathuriel." Sasuro stated. "He is the one who has set up the barrier around the house and is currently injured.... why is he out of bed?"

"Crying people take priority and beds are for the weak and the aroused," Mathuriel said without turning, and crouched down next to the girl.
"Come on, tell me your name..."

ella walked out of the room and down the stairs. she was thinking to herself and didnt notice the newcomer until she reached the bottom of the steps. she looked up at sasuro and at the woman 
"and who is this?"
she looked the woman up and down 
"are you with or against the king?"

Zenith turned back towards the woman.
"My name is Zenith," she replied. Her voice the became angrier and her eyes narrowed. "And I am most assuredly against that bastard."

Carlyle had left the room that mathriuel and Ella were in long before he had waken up, He went somewhere silent and played with his glove, and meditated. The solitude helped him think, it also helped him understand. Finally, he stood up walking to the door that separated him and the rest of the world, and began to go Downstairs.

He heard the crying, but thought nothing of it, upon reaching the bottom step he saw Sasuro, Ella, and another person standing around. Instead of moving to meet them, he sat on the last step, indifferent by everyone's presence. He waited.

ella stepped towards the woman 
"well since your against the king your welcome to stay here. im ella by the way"
she held out her hand for a hand shake 
"it seems we have something in common, i too despise the king and want to see nothing more then him dead"

Zenith's face softened, and she shook the woman's hand.
 "You must be Ella, right?"

ella shook her hand 
"yes i am, and this is my estate"
she gestured around the room
"well technically its was the family i was to marry into's estate but thanks to the king...."
she trailed off 
"never mind that, whats brings you here?"

"The king's men came to raid our village," Zenith replied. "I began to fight them off, using my blade and magic. However, after defending the village, the people feared me. They cast me out, even though I'm the only one protecting them. I couldn't bring myself to force them to let me, so the ultimate move I can make to ensure my village, my friends, and my family are protected is to kill the king. I only hope my village is still safe."

OOT: Sorry for the late reply, got really caught up in some project, lol.

"S-Serena", she replied to the stranger with a jittery voice. She felt bad that she caused someone to get out of their way to see what happened. She wiped the remaining tears from her eyes to clear out the blur that impeded her vision, hearing many voices inside she figured that the house was bustling with activity.

"Come on," said Mathuriel gently. "Up you get."

He helped the girl to her feet.
"Come on, sweetheart, follow me."
He led her into the house, past the others, and sat her at the table.

Then he put some bread and some meat and fruit in front of her - some of Ella's supplies but he figured she wouldn't mind, given the state of the girl.
Then he noticed the amulet around her neck, and felt a quite unique form of magical energy palpitating from it.
However, he decided to not ask her questions about it now, instead focusing on the problem at hand.
"Tell me your name. And what's wrong?"

Serena took an apple and rolled it on the table, not looking up at the stranger. She composed herself enough so that she could speak, "I am Serena... I.. I.. just lost everything.." She peeped out lightly, still looking down. When she finally looked up she noticed this man was not much like other people she had come across in her travels, yet she can't remember if she had seen anyone like him before her travels. "I.. was traveling with my sister, guards came... and killed her, and then an angry man, slew them all.. almost me too", she spilled out, feeling a bit frightened at recounting it.

Carlyle stood up from the bottom of the stairs, stretching his muscles. He walked slowly to mathriuel, the wood creaked beneath his feet, and it was almost silent enough to hear the noise emitting. Upon reaching mathriuel he placed his right hand on his left shoulder. Then lowered his voice.

"After you're done with Serena I wish to speak to you alone."

He quickly let go of mathrieul after he said what he had to, ignoring the presence of the other people in the room, except Ella. He nodded towards her in a form of reassurance that we will eventually kill the king, but also in a subtle way of saying he will do everything in his power that he can if he is so utilized. Then he began to walk towards the front door and exited the manor the wind blew the door shut. He waited on the stoop of the last step down from the manor.

Meanwhile....


Debris, Rubble, Fires, destruction. Upon the ashes of the city there stood a man in the center of a once proud statue. A smirk on his face, a vicious smile, His teeth pointed yet not a vampire but could easily rip through flesh and crush bones. People ran out of their houses on fire and in panic.

"Pathetic, all pathetic, none of you deserve life, I will snuff everyone of you out. Starting with this city. Then to the next."

Due to the fire all that was seen of him was a sheathed sword. He looked or average height but his appearance vague, he looked like a shadowy figure. "Carlyle, where are you? My friend. When I find you, I will kill you, and anyone who tries to protect you." he thought to himself. "I am prepared to do what needs to be done.

OOT: Will post character details later, when I start to reveal more about him.

Mathuriel reached out with both hands and squeezed hers, letting the warmth transmit between them, calming her down, letting her know she was safe. 
"That must have been awful for you," he said, his eyes hooded in sorrow. "You're safe now. I promise you that, you are safe within these walls. I've got to talk to someone now, about getting back at the people who did this to you, ok? If you want anything, anything at all, just find someone, or call my name. Mathuriel, ok? Just call my name, I promise I'll be there."

He held eye contact with her this whole time, to let her know how sorry he was as well as how sincere he was in his promise. Then he released her hands and smiling reassuringly at her, he stepped outside and down the steps to Carlyle.
"You wanted to see me?"

OOT: Ella has given me permission to play the king, as well as to command the overall plot of this RP, closely collaborating with her. Just getting that clear, lol

The throne room was dark, yet glowing with an ethereal crimson light, with hints of blue weaved into the air. 
The king himself sat on his throne, his eyes closed.
A guard emerged from the gloom and bowed low before his sovereign. 
"My lord... a village has been attacked by a sole figure who decimated it."

"Do you think this heralds any concern to me?" The king did not even deign to look at the lowly guard.
"I am aware of all that goes on in my kingdom, wretch."

"My lord I... I did not mean to -"

"SILENCE!" The king's voice suddenly reverberated with an unearthly anger, and the guard quailed.
"Here are your orders. They are all together now, they will attempt to strike. I do not know how soon, or when, but they will try to strike me down, to end my life, guided by rage and grief without knowing all that should be known."
He sounded amused rather than afraid.
"So, your orders. Continue your patrols, do as you are told, maintain my rule and maintain my order. But."
The king's fist clenched, very slowly, the only hint to his inner anger.
"If you get the chance... even if it costs every single one of your pathetic lives... you will kill the boy with the sceptre. He is your priority. The girl, the one with power... leave her alive, I have plans for her. But the boy with the sceptre, he in the robes with the focuses strapped to his belt, I want him wanted throughout the land. I want you to place a bounty on his head so large that he won't be able to get a drink in a bar without his head being torn from it's shoulders and presented to me for the gold."
"Your majesty..." the guard stammered, "if I may ask..."

"What?"

"What chance do we stand against someone who you deem a threat to you? Your power is magnificent, endless -"

"Enough pontificating and sycophancy and get on with it!" the king hissed, and the guard's legs wobbled.

"How can we mere weaklings dispose of someone who you are worried could defeat you?"

"Your mind is so simple! Pathetic worm, do you really think I could be vanquished by one such as he?! No, in a test of powers, he would fall before me, they all would fall before me. All at once, attacked by all, my power would be enough to rend them asunder with a fraction of my true strength."

"Then... my lord, I... I fail to understand..."

The king got up, and the guard fell straight to his knees, supplicating himself.
"My lord, I -!"

"Suffice it to say, you weak fool, that out of all who oppose me he alone can foil my supreme agenda! We are connected, him and I, in ways he does not know or understand. Should he discover this connection before I am ready to unleash my final plan, all might be lost! Does your feeble mind now understand!?"

"Y-y-yes my lord..."

"Good! Now BEGONE!"
The guard instantly retreated, and the king looked up at the dark ceiling.
"In a way, I almost pity him," he said softly, and the room faded into darkness...


OOT: Just making this clear, this does not mean the RP is all about my character. I am aware this post could be taken as a sign of narcissism, but I wish to assure you this is not the case. Every character is needed, each person has a crucial part to play. My character will not receive GM buffs, and he will not do everything important. Think of him more as a plot device, his realizations furthering the plot into the next stage. This is to allow all other plots that characters want to play to play out as their creators so desire. Again, making it clear, this will NOT suffer the same fate as the last EP, on that you have my word. Everyone is needed.

"Come take a walk with me, Mathriuel. It is far too close to the building to discuss, as no one truly knows the terms of our deal."

Carlyle stood up, and paced himself, Mathriuel hopefully followed behind.

"We have stood here too long. by now the king knows where we are. We have to pack up and start moving, cover our tracks. I am afraid as I was part of the kings royal army, I have a better idea of what is going on than you guys." A quick pause in his sentence. "Gather everyone, and all the supplies you can. Cause it won't just be the King and his army coming after us."

Carlyle looked out into the distance, and saw a vague smoke rising relatively close to it's cities, and beyond that it was a few towns over by the kings imposing castle that seemed to be built for gazes far and wide. "It is worse than I expected. They musn't know my relation with him." he thought to himself.

"Look, Mathriuel, If you gaze off in the distance there was a village that was attacked. the smoke is vague, but if you pay attention there is smoke rising."


The Figure had finally moved, and drawn his sword, walking down the road there were resistance forces charging in to attack him. with barely any force behind his swing he hat cut through them like a knife through butter. as gore splattered onto him it revealed more of what he was wearing. Blood never got onto his face. he was cloaked, his face carefully hidden. A beard covering the chin area. the only time you could see his figure was when he bare his teeth. finally the last man who opposed had fallen. putting the blade up to his mouth he licked some blood off and sheathed his blade.

He exited the town letting it all become ashes and charred 2x4's. he made his way towards the castle. He meant no ill will or want to kill anyone. putting his hood down, he walked through the gates. even unlatched his blade securely from his hip to give to the guards to insure there would be no trouble. he waited for a court courier and requested only. "I wish to meet with the king."

Mathuriel did more than look. A quick movement, and a click, and he disappeared to the scene.
A few moments later he reappeared, looking sickened. 
"Why do I get the feeling you're about to tell me who did that?"

The courtier scurried into the throne room, where the king had once again reposed, looking thoughtful.
"Your Majesty-"

"Send him in."

The courier looked up, in shock. "My lord, how did you-"

The king raised a hand for silence. "Send. Him. In."

The courtier scurried outside, ushering in the gory warrior.
Then he scurried off once more, leaving the man and the king alone together.
The king waited for his guest to speak...

Carlyle sighed, The fact he saw the brutalitly and had the rising suspcion he knew the man he had no choice but to confess to him. He turned to Mathriuel but couldn't exactly look him in the eyes. he had a lot of shame and regrets that arose when he thought of Jericho.

"Well... Even though I was an exceptional assassin, and enlisted into the kings army early, I never enjoyed what I did after a while. As I told Ella, I had no choice. We were poor, starving, and mostly sick, The king promised me a second life, and my family could live in the castle. I assume you know what happened and why I was when you first saw me. I am the last one in my family that survived. And the destruction was caused by someone who had left the Kings army many, many years ago. He was a dog of war, and was a sick man at that. He not only enjoyed killing. but he also enjoyed getting to know his prey. He had seduced many females, they all fell in love with him. and when they were about to give themselves up to him, Well, He would either allow it and then kill them, or kill them before hand. He has few friends, I was one of them. Until... I left, He left shortly after because of our compatability on the battlefield. He has his reasons for everything he does, but I wouldn't count on him aiding us in battle. He hates the king as much as I, but he will never reveal that, and The king is still oblivious to that fact. he will ocassionally talk to him, but is usually hooded in front of the king, he doesn't even know his name so far as I know. He never even reported back to him. he used to always tell me 'honor in killing the innocent is foolish, and getting paid is even worse. however, I don't kill for money or honor.' Now, he either wants to join me, or He wants to kill me. We could never know until he comes."

Jericho had a sense of superiority over the king, More than well aware of his power, He believed he was stronger. But in a 1 on 1 he would fall. In fact just the intimidation of loyalty wasn't enough for him to fold or even bow to the king. He wiped his beard to get the blood off of it. and smirked to the king. finally he exhaled and began to speak.

"Kick the peasents out of the room, Or I will kill them all with my bare hands. Inlcuding your royal gaurd. I won't harm you, I do however have a proposition for only you to hear, and any other ears would need to be dealt with accordingly, and maybe then, I will bow to you. Also, may I request some wine?"

Mathuriel listened without saying a word.
After Carlyle had finished, he didn't say anything then, either.
He simply looked away from him, at the devastation again.
Then he looked back at Carlyle, and spoke brightly, as though they were at a lovely picnic.
"Well, seeing as we're still on to kill the king tonight, I suppose I should just let this whole thing slide right now, seeing as we're kind of busy at the moment. But if this man hurts anyone of our little group, that poor girl, the woman that just arrived, Ella, Daemon, anyone, then after I've dealt with him Carlyle I will hold you responsible for not telling me about this threat sooner and I will leave you wandering a barren wasteland alone and forgotten until you starve to death or something kills you, am I understood?"

The king simply nodded, and everyone scattered until they were as far away from the room as they could physically get without leaving the castle.
"Proceed."

Mathuriel had seen liars. And he'd seen genuinely regretful people. Carlyle was the latter.
So he hugged the man back, a sporadic desire to do the right thing guiding him once more.
"It's fine, no need to get so melodramatic. We can handle him. I promise." 
He sounded confident, but from Carlyle's account the task ahead just got a whole lot harder, and he felt his knees tremor a little. But he forced it out, and gently let Carlyle go. 
"Come on, let's get inside."

"No," the king said idly, "I don't particularly care much for that deal."
He rose from his throne and regarded the kneeling Jericho. 
"I am not indestructible, nor am I unkillable. That you are correct about. But in a contest of powers? There are none who could flat out assault me and expect to survive."

He paused, thinking. "Stay kneeling, by the way."
A torrent of black energy flowed outward from the king's hand, lazily and effortlessly pinning Jericho's knees to the floor as well as pinning his hands to his legs.
The king walked around the kneeling Jericho, and pinched his cheek giving it a shake.
"You're certainly ambitious, I like that," he said chidingly, as though encouraging a despondent child to do better. "Well, how about a counteroffer?" He sat back on the throne again.

"You get everything you asked for. You get all you could ever want from my resources and my army. I make you a General-Prince, and I get to sit back whilst you do all kinds of delightful nefarious things. But instead of your little whispered deal..."
He leaned forward and whispered in Jericho's ear.
Then he leaned back again.
"Your next words will either be "Yes," or "Goodbye"," he said, releasing Jericho from the spell and watching him expectantly...

Jericho smirked, and let out a semi-psychotic laugh from the Dark magic that went into him. He stood up after what had happened, he cared little though. He made a hard offer to say no too. and took little consideration into it. He stopped kneeling, because he wouldn't need to be knighted to be a prince. He simply stood up and said.

"I accept."


Carlyle, Let go of Mathriuel. He felt different, He felt like he could live life without war for once, but he still needed to finish his promise. "Could it be, I found a new family?, It's still too early to tell." he thought to himself, and began to walk into the house. He joined everyone and immediatly smiled at the group, prepared to do whatever needed to be done.

"Hello, everyone."
