Oran turned to the newcomer and frowned.
'It's not like no is an option, seeing you've already joined us...'
He grabbed some rum out of the crate, and began to walk off.
'What is an opinion, is go on deck to find out why we're being assailed a band of merry morons.'

"Well im not sure if their stupid, crazy or just both but it seems like they're heading to Levia Inferis, just like we where, to get some respect. seem to love thier parrots through."
Zerron laughed as he took another swig and sat down on a crate.
"had the right idea, but they've been taking a lot of risks for it through. might have worked against their dreams through"

Sean snapped out of it to remember what they where going to do next.
"you can tell me later but for now pack up. We're swapping to a faster ship."
He left to gather up the rest of his things to get ready for the swap. this should be interesting trip.

The "pirates" went from amazed, to awe-struck, to flabber-gasted, to downright worshipful.
When Leon finished his speech, the pirates exploded into wild frenzies of action, scrubbing the deck as though they would die if they didn't, cannons being loaded and readied and cleaned, the sails being hoisted, the ship becoming a manic hive of activity. They all were "AAAR"ing and "Yo-ho-ho"ing as they went, and one of them even came up with the "Captain Leon" song out of sheer inspired awesomeness, which the entire crew took up as it went around.

Captain Leon (or, Ode to The Greatest Hero in the History of the Universe Who Has Ever Lived and Will Live For The Rest of Eternity)

"We're the fiercest crew on the whole seven seas!
When I say who I'm with no-one messes with me!
They all gulp and stand back and they let me walk on,
Because I tell them I've sailed with the great Captain Leon!"

"He's worshipped by women and envied by men,
We all shout in joy when he says "Sail again!"
We'd follow him from here to Armaged-don
And not care a whit 'cause he's Captain Leon!"

"He leads us through terror and perils galore,
He's fought mighty krakens as we've all stared in awe,
He's a damn mighty pirate when all's been and gone,
But he's the greatest hero - he's Captain Leon!"

"We're all fearsome pirates, on this vessel here,
But we owe it all to one man, the master of fear,
The lord of the plunder, the swag booty don,
The greatest captain in the world - CAPTAIN LEON!!"

They sang this song, getting more in tune and more in sync every time they went round, over and over until the entire ship was alive with it, every pirate gleefully belting it out as they scrubbed and scampered and double-checked their ship. Considering they had been actors, they were actually extremely tuneful, and Tyrcestus had to resist the urge to dance to it.

The first mate, trembling with overflowing awe, presented Leon with a hat that looked like it belonged in an ancient tale about pirate legends, a mighty object that emanated majesty and style. An eyepatch, that had a gold skull and crossbones as part of the design inside the eyepatch that made its wearer seem both respectable and roguish. A parrot that was of a majestic plumage and didn't poop everywhere. And finally, a sword with fierce tribal designs down the hilt and blade, a fearsome weapon, and a flintlock made of the finest oak.

"I think his outfit costs as much as the ship," the captain muttered, completely drowned out by the 12th rendition of "Captain Leon".

"There you go, Captain!" the first mate said, eager for his captain to get all decked out. "Er, quick question, what do you want to name the ship, Captain? The ship needs a name, something suitably adventureous and heroic, something you would be proud to own - because, er, you do own it, eh heh!" He seemed humbled to be in Leon's mere presence.

Tyrcestus looked down at Trinity amidst all the ruckus. "You ok?"

Arisa walked up to Leon, folding her arms as she watched the 'faux-pirates' get to work on following his orders. When the first mate presented Leon with his 'gifts', she raised her brow and looked at the first mate. "Where did you get these things?" She asked, then looked at Leon.

Oran ascended the stairs to the deck. His hat was at a crooked angle and he had three bottles of rum in one hand, and a loaded flintlock in the other.
He stopped in the middle of the deck, turning his head slowly to look at the other ship, inspecting her crew.
'Hey,' he finally said, after taking a swig from his booze, 'Nice ship you got there.'

Lorena pushed herself off from the wall and walked over to Zerron. Her eyes followed Oran as he left the room. She sighed when he was out of her sight.
"I thought he would never leave"
she looked over at the crate and huffed
"AND he took my rum!!"
she took a swig of the rum she was carrying then looked at Zerron
"Don't worry sweetie, he is always like that with people."
She leaned towards him
"Plus I think he is still a bit sour from me wrecking his ship."
she was slightly swaying from being a little buzzed
"You know...your kinda cute"
she flashed him a smile, tilted her hat and stood up
"But alas I have a ship to steal, so until we meet again"
she took off her hat and gave a bow, then straightened herself, placed her hat on her head and headed up on the deck where Oran was, she tripped on the last step and tumbled into Oran causing one of the bottles of rum to fall and shatter on the deck
"OH that's not good"

Trinity looked up at Ty and nodded
"I'm fine"
she looked at the crew
"do you think they are real pirates, they are a bit strange compared to the tales I have heard"

While I'm humming to the tune of this incredible catchy song that the crew is singing, my first mate comes back with some very nice equipment. This stuff must have cost a fortune! I can barely even contain my excitement as I look at it...I can't believe they're giving this to me! A sense of pride and gratitude wells up from deep within me...but I can't start looking like a big softy now, so I just put on a smile and nod.
"All I asked for was an eyepatch...but you went above and beyond and brought me all of this, huh? Very nice! I like a first mate who knows how to take the initiative!"
In the blink of an eye, I snatch up my new pirate gear and put it on-- except for the parrot, which I slowly and carefully guide onto my shoulder. I...I can feel it. Just by wearing all of this, I feel like a legendary hero of the high seas! My eyes sharpen, my expression turns into a charming, roguish smile and my stance gives off an air of confidence and reliability. Now...I FEEL like a pirate captain! Completing my almost magical transformation, I turn back to my first mate.

"I think you're onto something there. A new name is definitely in order."
I rub my chin and think to myself for a moment. We need a name that lets people know how much we mean business. A name that conveys strength and the power of our burning, heroic fighting spirit. I smile widely as the name comes to me.
"From now on, this lovely lady of ours will be known as...the ULTIMATE GOLDEN SEA DRAGON!! Of course, we'll probably just call her "the Dragon" for the sake of convenience."
I think that takes care of things on the business end. I look over at Arisa, who just asked where all of this came from.
"Details, details. There's no use dwelling on the past when we've got so much to look forward to in the here and now. Savvy?"
Then I look back over to...
...
...
Did I ever even get their names? Anyhow, there's a guy and a girl nearby and the girl was just asking if we're really pirates. What kind of question is that?!
"Of course we're pirates, you can be sure about that. Although...I'll take the fact that we're unlike any pirates you've ever heard of as a compliment. After all, we are the greatest crew to ever sail the high seas!"

I look back to my first mate and call out to him.
"A moment, if you wouldn't mind. I have a new mission for you...take a few of the men and head over to the other ship. See how many of them are interested in riding with us to Levia Infernis. And...at the very least, try to get all of their names. It's getting a little old saying things like "hey, you" when I try to talk to them."
I then look back at Arisa again.
"You're welcome to come with us too, of course. In fact, if you'd like, you could even join up with my crew. Just throwing that out there."
I smile and give her a wink.

In his new regalia, Leon looked, quite frankly, magnificent. He seemed to scream the very word "pirate" and after looking at him once with it on, it was impossible to imagine the word "captain" and not picture such a noble and rebellious figure.
The first mate was on the verge of passing out from over-exposure to too much epicosity, but he managed a weak nod. Teary-eyed, he almost blubbered "T-thank you... and aye-aye, Captain!" and scurried away.
The other pirates approved of the name "The Ultimate Golden Sea Dragon" so much that quite a few of them started painting the hull as they floated.
One pirate scrubbing the deck answered Arisa's question. "A marketplace across the sea. For actors looking to start again, very exclusive. Don't worry, we didn't steal anything. Yet."
With every word Leon spoke, the entire ship became more explosive, more rowdy, more... piratical, until Tyrcestus, if he hadn't known better, would have sworn blind he was staring at a horde of bloodthirsty cut-throats.

"I think," said Tyrcestus, choosing his words very carefully as they were very much within earshot, "they are people looking for guidance on how to be heroic pirates. And from the looks of it, I think they've got the best teacher in the business. Credit to Leon, he does seem to know quite a bit about being a hero."
"Of course he does," a pirate retorted as they ran past him, "he's Captain Leon! He's the greatest hero of all time!"

Already rumours and stories, some of which were flat out unbelievable, were starting to circulate.
"I heard Captain Leon looks at the treasuries of kings and passes them off as loose change!"
"That's nothing! I heard Captain Leon has single-handedly wrestled every man in the rowdiest taverns in all the land - all at the same time!"
"Bah, liars the lot o' ye! I heard Captain Leon uses dragon scales as tooth-picks!"
"That's ridiculous! And not even as manly and daring as the real truth - when Captain Leon gets bored he can TURN INTO A DRAGON!"
"I HEARD HE CAN TURN INTO A DRAGON THAT HAS TWENTY HEADS, AND CAN BREATHE FIRE SO HOT IT CAN MELT A MAN'S VERY BONES!"
"I HEARD CAPTAIN LEON IS A GOD IN DISGUISE! A SEA DRAGON GOD!"
Every pirate stared at each other.
"The Ultimate Golden Sea Dragon God..."
They all then stared at Leon with a look of outright worship.

Tyrcestus pinched his nose. "Why do I get a feeling being deified is going to go to his head...?"

Zerron Smiled at lorena and put the cork back into his bottle.
"Why thanks darling. I've always been called the cute one."
He got up and started to walk slowly behind her.
"Till we meet again, my beautiful wildflower. And good luck on stealing.... oh crap."
at that moment he remembered just how scary focused sean was on getting to Leiva Inferis.
"Wait a second! I don't think thats a good.... oh hey there Sean. why are you down here?
As he was starting to run after Lorena Zerron ran into sean.

Sean was as stern as he was since the moment they had set sailed, only not the sparks in his eyes where different somehow.
"Oh good, glad I ran into you. Pack your crap up, we're swapping ships."

"wait, wha.... swapping ships? what do you....?

"The captain's said that their ship is bigger and faster than our current ship, and that taking it would take a whole day off of our trip. we are in a race and I will not let those cheating elf's get their F---ing hands on something that I went through the trouble of retrieving."

"Sean... let me stop your rant there with a small question. How the hell did you get that bunch to agree to that!?"

Sean sighed loudly and looked down for a little bit.
"those idiots actually decided to make Leon their captain..."
Zerron busted out laughing as he heard that.
"what, LEON? that leon? Holy..... WOW! How the hell did that happen?"

"Don't ask, but with him as their captain and that ships crew willing to head to hell and back it's in our favor. Also since leon is their new captain I'll make sure that we stay on course. No telling what can happen with him being in charge like that but anyways that's the plan and gather your stuff now."
Sean started to walk away towards his cabin. "We've wasted enough time already, and besides we have orders."
Sean got into his cabin and picked up his bags. surprisingly enough the batch of antidote he made was a more than he had expected. he was also glad that he brought plenty of leather flasks too.

As he left the ship he nodded and waved to the captain.
"sorry to leave you here, but we do have our orders from the king and this is a race after all. good luck on the seas."
Sean got onto the other ship he was quite amazed at how lively the crew was. he was also starting to hear stories about capt leon too. he decided to make his way up to see the new captain. when he got to him he was half surprised at how lavished he looked, from his sword down to his gold eye patch and even his parrot was elegant. How is his mind going to handle this... He found arisa just behind him and was relived a little.
"So how's the ship and crew so far?" Sean turned to arisa and whispered to her.
"And how are things with him so far? I've been hearing rumors..."

Arisa looked at Sean, then towards Leon. "I think the fame is going to his head." She replied. "I'll keep an eye on him. It would be a tragedy if he went charging in on his own and died." She looked back at Sean. "The crew seems eager to follow his orders; as for the rumors, they've been swirling about for awhile now."

Oran looked down at the broken bottle, as the rum soaked into the deck. He closed his eyes, and began taking slow, deep breaths.
This continued for about 15 seconds, when Oran cocked his pistol, held out to his side and fired, the bullet blowing a hole in one of the 'pirates' legs.
Oran then took a swig fro one of his remaining bottles, and sighed contently. 'I think I took that rather well.'

As time passes, I find myself feeling more and more at home with my new identity. I'm starting to notice things that hadn't occurred to me before. The gentle caress of the ocean mist...the rhythmic swaying of our ship on the water...even the loud caw of a seagull's call sounds pleasant to me now. I take a deep breath, as if trying to take in as much of this moment as I can. Alright, enough of that, it's time to get back to business. I look back at my crew.
"Don't start saying weird things like that. A captain is only as good as his crew, so if we're going to be the best then I expect all of you to give me your best!"
As much as I appreciate how highly they think of me, I need to make sure that their expectations aren't too unrealistic. If that happens, they might start getting a little reckless. That should take care of things for now, so I turn my attention back to Arisa and Sean.
"So, are you two done whispering over there? I never did get an answer, after all."
I raise an eyebrow and give them a wry smile.
"Are you two interested in joining up? You're both pretty good, it'd be great to have you around as part of the crew."
Just after saying that, I could almost swear that I hear a gunshot outside. Out of instinct, I briefly glance in that direction. It's probably nothing. But if something did happen, I'm sure I'll hear about it pretty soon. I look back at the two of them and wait for a response.

"yes, we are 'part' of your crew. But have you forgotten what the king has ordered us and you to do? Or have you forgotten about those details?" Sean glared at him with fierce lightning in his eyes.
I really hope this whole pirate thing doesn't go to his head.

As Zerron put his shield on his back along with the various short swords and shields he customized, he left his cabin and decided to see what Oran and lorena where up to. Zerron found them on deck, one was lying on the deck while the other was looking over the bigger ship and its other crew. he decided to walk up to then and say something. Zerron knew what they where thinking.

"So it was nice to meet ya, but this is where we swap boats and continue on our journey. I hope you two find this boat to your liking, it's basically just got a face lift and plenty of sea starfish meat on it as well."
Zerron started to walk away, but then he stopped.
"I understand if you guys don't have what it takes to enter Leiva Inferis, unless..."
Zerron turned his head and looked back at them, grinning.
"Unless you want to prove that your as mighty as people think and come back to tell the tale."

"Well that gotta hurt"
she chuckled then slapped Oran across the shoulder
"Seems you learned how to control your temper a bit"
she looked down at the soaked floor
"Such a waste of good rum"
she shook her head stood up, brushing herself odd, took her hat of for a brief moment and bowed her head for a moment of silence.
"Poor rum, never saw it coming"
she lifted her head and replaced her hat
"Now then"
she looked around noticing the crew who all was now looking at the two of them, the spoke to Oran under her breath
"I think you got their attention, now what? so much for doing this the easy way"
it was then she noticed Zerron approaching them
"Wait say that again, did you say Leiva Inferis, why of all places would you want to go there...Its suicide"

I blink in surprise at Sean's reaction. Huh...this seems to be a pretty touchy subject for him. That sword of his must be a lot more than just a weapon to him. I pat him on the shoulder and laugh.
"Whoa, settle down there. Nobody said anything about leaving the sword behind. We're still heading straight to Levia Infernis, just like we always were."
I click my tongue and give him a thumbs-up.
"Even though I've taken to wandering the high seas, I am still the wandering hero Leon Dragonfang. Any self-respecting hero, pirate or not, always keeps his word. Don't you worry about that."
I was worried about my other crew members doing something reckless, but maybe I should be more worried about Sean...

Arisa placed her hands on the shoulders of Sean and Leon, she looked from one to the other. "We're going to get Sean's sword back, and show those devious elves that we're not to be messed with." She looked at Sean and smiled gently, she then looked at Leon. "We should be on our wa-" she heard a gunshot, and paused. She looked towards the other ship. "Should we check it out, or go on our way?" She looked at Sean.

"You can ask the Half elf king himself and thank him once we get there. he's the one that kidnapped the Kings daughter and put her there. Thats what made the king order Sean there to give up the lightning sword as the grand prize for this race of theirs."
Zerron walked towards the pair as he started to explain the whole situation.

"You see the sword this is over was made by the elves back in ancient times so they could be powerful, but a goblin stole it, ended a war between them, hid it from everyone until now. it's pretty much one of a few ways to kill an immortal such as an elf. Good enough reason for the half elf king to pull a stunt like this. Pretty messed up, isn't it?"
Zerron chucked a little as he started to walk away.

"You? Your thinking that I'm just thinking about a sword! I'm sorry but theres a LOT MORE to think about here than just a sword! Let me remind you that we also need to bring the kings daughter back to the king as he ordered us to. Also Lives are at stake that is why I'm like this and we are in a race against the elves lets not forget that! if they win they will kill all of us and mankind we cannot let that happen."
Sean caught himself before he said anything else. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath in and slowly exhaled. that seemed to have calmed him down a little.
"I'm sorry that I lost it there, but time is of the essence and there's a whole lot more at stake here. If the stories are true then we need to hurry and rescue the princess. she's the whole key to this since she also has the sword. On the bright side she's not defenseless. That blade can kill any immortal so if she wants to she can try to escape but then again the elves are immortal too... Leon, I'm just trying to make sense here so please see things my way. We need every advantage we can get and make haste in order to get the best chances. "

Sean felt Arisa's hand and heard her out. he smiled back at her.
At least theres someone who still has their senses here.... then a gunshot rang out.
"Zerrons still on the ship, let him handle it while we carry on. he'll make it on the ship with us."

"But just from the way you reacted your not gonna follow. You did say yourself that it was suicide, didn't you?"
He checked his bag to make sure it wouldn't fall off.
"To most it is. But to the ones who fight demons and to ones who are told are crazy not too much. Its a mark of honor and respect to come out of there alive!" With a smile he cut the ropes tying the two ships together along with setting the plank bridge ablaze. "Oh and since you seem to have the attention of this ships crew, good luck with the mutiny."
Zerron walked to the other side of the ship and grabbed a hanging rope. He jumped and propelled himself off with a jet of flames. he looked back at lorena and smiled.

"Til next time my little wildflower!" Zerron soared well over the gap between the two ships and landed in the crows nests on his two feet, surprising the guy who was already there.
"To be honest I didn't think I would make that landing. The wonders of good rum..."

I can feel a shiver run down my spine as Sean's words start to sink in. I never knew that the situation was this bad. Would the Elves...really do that? Would they wipe out all humans if they had the chance? I close my eyes, trying to make sense out of everything I've just heard. I stumbled into this "quest" without hearing all of the details. I...I didn't even know.
"All-out war...this is ridiculous. Why didn't anyone think that this information was important enough for me to know? I had no idea going into this that all of humanity was on the line."
I'm just thinking out loud, not talking to anyone in particular.
"We need to start moving. Now."
I turn around and make my way to the upper deck of the ship. I see a few crew members and call out to them.
"We're leaving for Levia Infernis, did we get everyone off of the other ship who wants to--"
My words trail off as I notice something...odd. The ropes connecting the two ships were cut and the plank was nowhere to be seen.
"What?! How many people did we get from the other ship? Who gave the order to disembark?!"
My nerves are already shot after hearing Sean's story. This is definitely not helping. I close my eyes, take a few deep breaths and try to calm down. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around it. This quest of ours is a lot bigger than I ever imagined.

Zerron jumped from the crows nest and onto the deck, right beside Leon.
"I would like to apologize for the plank bridge but you shouldn't be worrying too much. I didn't want a certain couple to start a mutiny here as well. anyways I saw two stowaways sneak their way aboard, one of them being the girl who disappeared on us, the reaper also slipped by us and...... wait, where the brothers... ah Hell!"
Zerron dropped his bag and started to climb up the mast again. he ran off the end of the sail and back onto the other ship, looking for vizzard and gizzard. After finding them in their cabin, he packed their stuff up, grabbed both of them and managed to make their way back to the new ship.

"Sorry about that, still have the seal? anyways that should still leave Seans girlfriend, who has her broom and magic to get on board. that should be the whole group, Right? "

Seans mouth hung open as he watched things unfold.
"how in the hell did he manage all of that?"
Anyways, can figure that out later. now that capt leon knows how dire things are he seems to be more in focus.
"I forgot that he joined us as we left. we might have to fill him in on all the details later. but anyways thank you for keeping an eye on him Arisa."

Well...yeah...that just happened. But I guess he's right, so I just shrug my shoulders and go with it.
"Yeah, I think you're right. That works out fine for me; in fact, you've probably made my life a little bit easier."
Since everything seems to be in order, I relax my shoulders and smile.
"Nice stunt, by the way. You're pretty good at that whole Ninja thing."
I turn around to the crew and start shouting out orders.
"Listen up! We can't afford to waste any more time here, you got that?! Hoist the sails and batten down the hatches! We're making our way to Levia Infernis as fast as this Dragon will take us!!"
I then look back to Zerron.
"Oh, and welcome aboard. Make yourself at home, this trip is still gonna take a while."

"Well I have been training as a ninja my whole life so I'm pretty much a master at this point. Which reminds me..."
Zerron picked his bag up and walked over to where Arisa was.
"Arisa! since we still have a long trip ahead of us I need to teach you a few lessons before heading into Levia Inferis."

Zerron handed his bag off to sean, taking out a short sword and a light shield out of it. He handed them to her.

"Katanas are great for speed, but they can break and chip when slashing against the scales and plates of a demon. The skills that I'm about to teach you will allow you to use that sword and shield as better tools against what we'll find there. Trust me, that shield might just save your hair and skin."
Zerron smiled and looked at her.
"No one else can teach you this better than me, and It will come in handy many times too."

"Wait, your a teacher now? how can you teach?"

Zerron looked back at sean.
"Hey If I could teach a bunch of kids back at my clan viliage's dojo, then I can teach her. And yes I was a teacher before I left." After a moment or two he then added something.
"I left on my on free will."

Sean wasn't going to ask any questions. he just desided that it was best to leave him and get settled in.
"okay, whatever you say. Oh and what do you want me to do with your bag?"

"just keep it safe wherever you settle into."

Okay then. Sean went below deck and found the cabins, wondering just what Zerron was gonna teach Arisa.

Arisa took the sword and shield, and looked at Zerron with a puzzled expression on her face. "I've never used a sword and shield. Quite frankly, the swordsmanship I do know, I learned from my mother, and the other villagers."

One of the crew limped up to Leon, nursing a blown-apart leg, looking borderline agonised.

Tyrcestus shrugged.

He looked out to sea, where a dark cloud was forming.
A crewman noticed it too, and he shouted to Leon who was still dealing with the damaged-leg thing.
"STORM AHEAD, CAPTAIN!!"

I turn around as I hear one of my crew mates call out to me. I look down at the leg he's holding onto and...well, it's definitely not a pleasant sight. I can't help but grimace, but I've got to keep a cool head or he might start getting nervous. Hmm...I think I've got an idea. I call two other crew mates over and motion to the injured man.
"Help him get to our friend over there; he's a healer and he's pretty good at what he does."
I look over and point to the man nearby who's talking to his catgirl girlfriend. Or is she just his catgirl friend? Doesn't matter. I look back to the injured man.
"After that, you can tell me all about the scoundrel who did this to you. Trust me, I'm dying to know."
Just then, another crewman calls out to me saying that there's a storm ahead. I thought something felt wrong...I look over and sure enough, a nasty-looking storm is heading right for us. I take a few steps forward and call out to the crew.
"Get ready, it looks like we've got a big one coming our way!! Anyone who doesn't want to get wet, get below deck! Move it, NOW!!"
